Thing is, we have the technology needed to get to Mars. It's basically just an upscaled version of the Lunar missions. But we don't yet know how people will cope with the trip, especially since it will be one-way only.

It's really just a question of will and funding. But since America is currently completely obsessed with profit and riddled with an anti-science attitude, I doubt that funding will come through any time soon.

Other nations were racist, I'm not kidding myself, but Rhodesia literally wanted its independence to avoid having Africans in their government. It's like being proud of the CSA.

Radiation is a big problem. We require better shielding and ways of getting there faster in order to reduce exposure to acceptable levels.

I have mixed feelings I hate the interventionism Forieng Policy I like isolationism. But for the most part I've had a horrible experience in America. Just forget politics here I've just had bad rimes here and I am done with USA. I would take Canada over America in a heart beat. Inshallah I can move to Canada I'm ready to renounce my citizenship all together for Canada. I've lived in the American south all my damn life I hate "Dixie" it's literally hell on Earth. Love bugs it's hot bunch of red necks and criminals. I want some damn seasons all this hell hole has is Summer & Monsoon season. It's 95 every singal day stand out side for a Minute and you got the hold damn nile tiger in you'r shirt. And it's humid. This has been my experience in America and America always fighting other wars that arnt there's. It's just stupid and the whole thing saying we need to invade Syria! Seriously???????????????? FSA is 75% Al-Qeada! I just can't take this nation Canada is America #2 I get it but it's better more neutral and also is so beautiful it's Tundras and Steppes and Forressts and Mountians and can actually have 4 seasons. Omg makes me wanna cry that I'm not there.

As a Texan, I feel for you, and truthfully never much liked "Dixie" but the USA has a HUGE portion of the entire continent! Head northwestward, the weather can be pretty nice. Can't help you on your political views though.

Very few Americans however go around stating how they're better than Italians or the Japanese or whoever.

The only really odd thing that Americans seem to frequently do is say they live in the greatest country on earth. That's not a statement about themselves, but about the place in which they live.

It's also very odd and grating. Lewis Black even commented on it.
