I love the melting pot of American culture but not our multifarious political system that seems to get nothing done, especially with the obstructionists occupying our congress. I love the people and our history, but not the politicians, lobbyists, and corporate conglomerates who are running this great country into the ground.

I'm Canadian. So, yes, I am proud.

And we've got Justin Bieber and the oil sands too.

Meh, I guess I can get sort-of proud of my country. We did some cool things in the tiny amount of time in history that we've existed. Loyal? No, I'm only loyal as long as we're as good or better than other countries. Given that Canada is a stable, not-human-rights-abusing democracy right now, I guess I'm loyal. But if that changes that loyalty goes right out the window.

Why would anyone be loyal to Rhodesia? It was literally founded on racism.

I agree.

Oil sands aren't really a problem, though... They're what creates most of Canada's exports...

Wy say you hate it? If it's a meaningless pice of land, hate seems an awfully strong emotion.

Proud? No. The United States once stood for something. Freedom, democracy, a beacon for those in need. It is no longer so. The petty squabbles of those who run with country shall cause its downfall. The fattened hogs that rule the failed bureaucracy of two parties, no choice between, have disgraced this once proud land with the blood and the fear of those who wish to see change.

I shall not betray my country as of yet, but I am sometimes ashamed to see what America has become.
