That's kinda how I feel about my country. Still, to answer the OP's question: I'm kinda of a territorial nationalist, so yeah, take a guess. Anyway, I'm proud of my country's positive aspects, however, I'm well aware of its negative side.
Your nation is like a son. What it does right is your merit, as well as what it does wrong is your fault. When you praise it, be lucid and avoid exaggeration. Praising it too much can make it indolent. On the other hand, when you criticize it, be harsh, but do not ridicule it. Do your best to improve it, not through derision or disdain, but through good examples and dedication.

Absolutely not. I love where I live, and I love the people that live here, but to base your fondness of a location solely on the imaginary lines drawn in the dirt, is ridiculous.

I'm not loyal to the whole USA, I have little to nothing in common with places outside of my region, however I'm very proud and loyal to my region, New England.

I don't care for my country, but I don't care for any others either.

I take it as a rule that you shouldn't be proud of anything you didn't create, and I really hope I didn't create this fucking place.

I'm not proud of my countries and what it has done (I am Salvadoran, Mexican, and a U.S. Citizen) but I know I am better off here in the U.S. than in Mexico or in El Salvador so I am pretty loyal to it, yes.

I am a bit confused with this sort of thing, since I was born in England, raised in New Zealand and primarily of Welsh ancestry, as a compromise, I have become loyal to all Anglo-Celtic nations...

Except America, sorry guys.

Well, in California, East Asians and Indians are the only people keeping Hispanics from being the majority, and currently keeping white people at the generous plurality.

And soon is before 2050.

Why should I be particularly proud of Denmark? It just happens to be a name given to the area of land where I happened to be born. A pure coincidence - that's all.

I pay my taxes, obey the laws, and get a number of services in return. For now, that's an arrangement that suits me well. But pride and loyalty...? Nahhh...

Am I proud of my country? Pride is useless and illogical, countries are imaginary. So the answer is no. Lets unify the planet as sooner as possible, science can be a great ally to do it.

I am very proud of America. I'm lucky to live here. I often imagine what my life would be like in other countries and it makes me cringe. I love the ideas this country was based on and I think we had a good system. When the OP says that European countries care about their populace he/she is hinting that America doesn't. I would like to take this opportunity to tell him/her that if America didn't care about the populace we wouldn't still be free. I know many, many people say that no president would ever remove the Constitution, but if our government really stopped caring about the populace, who is to say that wouldn't happen if it would guarantee them personal gain.

Back to my point though I am proud of being American because America took down the best military power of history, Great Britain. A bunch of dedicated soldiers fought for what they felt was right and won. And think about how many revolutions have happened in history since then. How many people have fought (whether they won or lost) to be free. To have the same privileges as Americans do. That's why I'm proud of my country and I would gladly give my life protecting it. I know a lot of people will disagree with me and that's fine this is all about opinion. I think America is a great nation, no matter how stupid the people running it currently are. Because people can get better and things can change, that's what life is all about.
"Every voting citizen needs to know and respect the rights and responsibilities laid out in the Constitution and its amendments if he/she is to defend those rights and execute those responsibilities with his/her vote and thereby defend the freedoms and rights that make America the great place it is. Voting isn't just a right; it's a responsibility, and we should never bestow that responsibility on a person who cannot execute it faithfully and with proven knowledge of the system in which he/she is voting." New Bierstaat
Anti: Religion (especially exemption from taxes), gun control, violation of human rights
For: Equal rights, capital punishment, tighter border control
