Undoubtedly. The place was all but leveled completely. These has been some sustainable progress in restoring order in affected areas thanks to international aid, but it'll probably take a while before we see anything even resembling what it was like before the super typhoon.

AFAIK, nope it is not. However its still a mess, will take a year to properly rebuild (or more, Ping Lacson hasn't been heard much since he got the rebuild-coordinator job). Also, there are reports that certain families are getting screwed out of their land by land-grabbers over there.

And yes, useless celeb news. Why did they talk about that worthless Navarro idiot getting beat up for so long???

His reputation is definitely not high after the Zamboanga stunt he pulled last year. He now more or less politically irrelevant as of the current bangsamoro agreements, little more than a criminal really.

Reputation Not high?? That'll make Asigna mad
Indeed he just pulled a week of small firefights, but the people of Zamboanga still suffered the aftereffects of the things he made

The Philippines could have ended with most of the spraties but they had to occupy them with people right after WW II. Chances are then China would not have claimed them. China has been able to claim much of the Spratlies since the majority of the islands are uninhabited and not really officially claimed by other nations.

This is what the Philippines consider to be theirs.

Yeah, so what? It's within the UN mandate of UNCLOS where each nation has the right to 200 nautical miles of their coast line, I'm sure we can work out something with Vietnam, Brunei and Malaysia since they're also following the mandate but China and Taiwan are being ridiculous.

I have a question: Why do people see the Filipino figure skater as a athlete model? He was in 20th place or something.

I'd guess there's the novelty of him as a figure skater (not exactly what one thinks Filipinos would get involved in). Even if he was just 20th place, I imagine people like him just for getting even anywhere near that close because its such an unusual sport for a Filipino to be seen playing.

In other words, he still got a considerable place even with little government support. The winners have government funding from their repsective countries while here.....that's why i would want and dream of the Philippine government for it to someday fall apart and be rebuilt again by another nationalistic person who actually cares for his country.

We need nationalism-and progressivism. Conservatism only brings us stuck to the past and that bars progress and limits us from accepting new ideas.

You are making me really angry. Communism is already an ideology bound to fail because man will always become selfish and that ideology will be sabotaged. To have communism work in the Philippines, everybody must be as tough as Jesus to sarcifice material goods for everyone else's welfare.

And how could you like conservatism!
