You're just proving my point, which is that it's a bad idea to treat anything religious as the Infallible Word of God, because then you have people like Hitler and Bin Laden who sincerely believe that the horrible things they do are right, and who will use religion as a means to an end to encourage support.

No, it isn't.
The ammendment is:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free excercise thereof.
Which means tax breaks for churches breaks the ammendment.
Taxing a church on it's profits isn't prohibiting free expression either.
