Despite his claims that a little weed never hurt anybody, there have been more DEA raids on legal (in their respective states) recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries than under Bush. A clear conservative.

They widely supported the NDAA. And helped pass the Patriot Act, again. They voted to give one person the legal power to assassinate you, and to detain you without pressing any charges for the rest of your life. Or without allowing you to stand trial, to face your accuser, or to defend yourself.

What civil rights are you talking about?

They are not pro-civil rights. They are pro-indoctrination and winning elections.

I hope you didn't just see this.

Why don't we just vote Libertarian for New Hampshire (It is relatively Libertarian with relaxed Gun Laws, low taxes and overall a streamlined regulatory environment)

Yeah, I'll find one. If I recall, ABC News also called the race for Shaheen, but I'll find it.

Well no. But still there is the problem of criminal activity.

Colorado's results are pouring in quickly, and it doesn't look bad for Hickenlooper.

Even if they won, does not mean they would make any policy changes.

And if they did, the economy would prosper. Libertarian economic policy is based on hundreds of years of demonstrated results. Unlike, Keynesianism, which has decades of demonstrated failure.

That's cheating. You could project that for every election and you would never be wrong.

I'd vote for someone other than Democrats if there was another option, as I only really strongly identify with the Congressional Progressive Caucus. (oh, how I wish they would break off and form a third party)

But I'd rather have a blue congress than a red congress any day. Democrats aren't perfect, but Republicans are far more authoritarian, corrupt, socially conservative, and have too many warring factions within them. (i.e. all the moderate GOP members are being vilified for not wanting to ) Democrats have factions, too, as there's a huge amount of difference between the left wing and the centrist wing(i.e. Elizabeth Warren and Bill Clinton types aren't similar at all), but they all generally unite behind the blue banner and provide cohesive policy, and they all have a generally equal brand of social liberalism. I just think democrats provide 'good' government. With the GOP there's a lot of infighting and distrust between the right wing that wants to burn women who use the pill at the stake, and the more moderate ones that just want to have some non-radical center-right policy. And I think that the Libertarian Party, while I admire its stance on social issues, it just isn't practical. I doubt that it would ever caucus with Democrats if it won a senate seat, ultimately pandering to the 'conservative' side of things, as it seems to be far more focused on right wing economic issues.

So yeah, even though I'm not a huge fan of Democrats, that's why I'm blue through and through until the electoral system changes. I'm happy with the Congressional Progressive Caucus, who provide a solid social democratic policy platform, and have growing influence in the Party, representing about 35% of all Democrats in the House. So, I guess maybe, they're my 'third party', and actually have an independent voice that's to the left of the mainstream centrist Democrats. :)

(BTW does anyone have an idea who the Independent from Kansas, Greg Orman, would end up caucusing with?)

Alright, I think I'm going to take a break from chewing at my nails at all the races, and instead watch some tv.

When I return, I hope to see the following things happen.

(1. Crist wins Florida.
(2. Warner wins Virginia.
(3. DuVal starts with a lead in Arizona(Optimistic, right?)

Worth noting in the Florida race (govenor) the judge denied the motion to keep the polling places open in heavily Crist territory.
Seems to have cost Crist roughly 10,000 votes.

I'm liking the way things are shaping up so far. Here's hoping Rauner takes Illinois, he's at 53.12% with 8.19% reporting.

Edit: Oh, this is the Senate Elections thread. Whoops.
