I doubt ANY state would impose laws that restrict rights from gays. It wont happen like it did in the past.

I wouldn;t put it past them to try to to pass such laws or even a federal marriage amendment.

They won't.

Not really an argument without examples, just your opinion.

And while I admit, First Lady is hardly a qualification, Michelle Obama could not be President, it at least familiarized her with the rules, etiquette, procedures, and level of work a President must bear. Her work as a Senator, and as Secretary of State shows she is not just Bills Wife.

Benghazi is the first to come to mind.

Lol. You can only milk that so much - I still fail to see how she was directly responsible for arming protesters.

I am, however, happy that my state of California passed prop 47 (the criminal sentencing measure). Hopefully the first step in challenging the injurious paradigm of the War on Drugs.

Although I would have liked to see prop 45 ( health insurance rate regulation) pass. Obviously tonight you can't win it all.

Threlizdun wrote:Bullshit, how could you have no right to complain if you oppose everyone running? Coercing people to vote into the "lesser of the evils" is not an expression of democracy, but an expression of tyranny. If you vote for someone, you better genuinely believe what they are promising and believe they will actually deliver on their promises. I opposed what the candidates running in my state promised and was not going to give my vote to someone I don't want in office. If a candidate wants my vote, they have to earn it. None of them did that, so none of them got it.

Well then enjoy the right wing government you have now. There are people around the world who would give everything for the right to vote yet we treat it like it doesn't matter. People like you are the problem with this nation. We take our rights for granted and fail to participate in our democracy. What's the point of having elections if so few people vote?

I did participate in democracy. I participated by refusing to support those I oppose and explaining to others why I did so. Candidates need our votes to get elected, and if they want our votes, they need to offer what the people want. None of them did that, so I didn't support any of them. If they wanted my vote, they should have held positions I support. We would have a right wing government regardless of who was elected. Both parties are right wing. Neither of them give a shit about the poor. Voting for someone you don't support is wrong. It corrodes democracy and empowers those you oppose. I refuse to do such a thing. I value my right to vote far to much to waste it on someone I don't want to see in power.

Indeed. I congratulate you Pennsylvanians for giving liberals the only satisfying victory of the night. Hats off to you

I actually wrote in the Libertarian guy who technically couldn't even run because PA's ballot access laws are deplorable.

But I knew Wolf had a solid lead.

My point exactly, I know some Republicans are dishonest and untrustworthy, but their are just as many in the Democratic party just as bad, and many people just seem too forget about the Dems.

It didn't attack him for being handicapped per se but for not looking out for those who have been victims of handicaps or abuses. I honestly don't think the ad was incorrect.

That being said, it was pretty damn insensitive and did nothing to quell the Republican tide in which Davis drowned tonight.
