Oh, they do... just not the Black Eyed Peas. They were so off key that night!

I'd be perfectly happy with another pop singer as long as he/she can sound at least reasonably close to as good as he/she would in studio. Someone like Kelly Clarkson, for instance, would be great if you want a pop singer.

I'm into country music myself, but I don't know who uses or doesn't use Auto-Tune, so I can't really make a pick within country.

But seriously, it's an entertainment show, they're going to pick someone on popularity and not necessarily on the quality of their music. Which sucks, I admit, and makes the halftime show boring, I admit, but they only get once a year to do this thang.

EDIT: Also, I don't know of too many live performances that are pitch-perfect without using some sort of artificial audio wizardry. Which says something about how unhealthy our expectations are after we listen to CDs, or something.

It just makes the halftime show a great time to go out and pick up more food, that's all. I can handle that.

If I had to pick someone to do the halftime show, I'd pick Bon Jovi. Popular, and fucking awesome.
