There's no inevitability, there is just the same hopes that fans of most NFL teams have before the season... only in some cases its more realistic. But I do admit that a potential Pats-Packers Super Bowl could well be another close run thing.

I can't wait for that game. I've been back and forth between Broncos and Packers all week, and though I hope my Pack will win after last week I have some doubts.

An ill timed injury. A bad call by a referee. The ball bouncing the wrong way. A fire alarm in your hotel rooms on the road at 3 AM on gameday. Fate, she is a cruel mistress at times to us all. Packers and Patriots or no Packers or Patriots. I am glad you have tossed the inevitability noise out the window, very wise my friend.

That being said, the Patriots have as good a chance as any in the AFC, but other teams still have plenty of life which bulletin board material can enhance.

This documentary is for the uninitiated... it is part of the reason why the Pats-Jets rivalry got so heated. The Jets tapped up Pats coach Bill Parcells when the Pats were preparing for the 1996 Super Bowl against the Packers. Parcells also took Belichick and a few players with him to the Jets.

The day Bill Belichick coached the Jets

And not soon after, a Jets player injured Pats QB Drew Bledsoe, and Belichick had to sub in the backup QB, a young man named Tom Brady. And the rest is history.

The best part of all of this is the utter misery that many Jets fans have felt ever since, knowing that maybe, just maybe, this huge opportunity to win another SB slipped from their hands and instead they spent most of the last 15 years in the basement, with one or two reasonable seasons in between. Its one of the biggest what ifs in NFL history, what if the Jets ownership hadn't created the bad vibe that made BB resign. What if Belichick had remained and drafted Brady for the Jets.

Oh, and James Starks. Yeah, Pack by 10. :D

At least ten. The Denver offense has been dismal. If Denver scores a TD, it will probably be off of a turnover. And turnovers aren't easy to come by against the Pack.

I'm nervous about Broncos and Panthers, but after them I think the Pack should have the rest in their pocket. We got most of our bad blood out already.

Here's the thing with Denver.
Week 1: Baltimore is the most difficult opponent they've faced. They're a decent quality team, but the hard truth is, they're 1-5.
Week 2: Last minute heroics save them from a loss to the Chiefs, who are 2-5.
Week 3: Their most convincing win. A 12 point win over Detroit, who finally won a game last week. Not very impressive.
Week 4: Minnesota is the only team with a winning record Denver has played. And they nearly lost. Probably should have lost.
Week 5: Derek Carr and Oakland give Peyton and Co. a run for their money. Noticing a theme here.
Week 6: They need OT to beat Cleveland? I know the Browns have improved, but they still aren't very good.

Combined Record of Denver's opponents thus far: 13-26.
Their average winning margin against these inferior teams? About 6 points.

Maybe they'll prove me wrong in GB. I halfway hope they do. My point is, they've been far from impressive this season.

Much deserved firing after watching Stafford regress this year.
