Blehrg. Patriots did good.
Tom Brady and Belichick are still physically incarnated aspects of Satan, though.

Literally though, even the pats thought they lost.

You could say Brady with his depressed droopy eyes even sadder than usual, thinking "Oh my fucking god I lost my fourth straight superbowl what even is this guys I'm done" and then out of nowhere Seattle makes the play of the year and pretty much gives the ball to New England.

I don't think any of us Seahawks fans would be crying as much if it wasn't for that last play. If they just weren't THAT close to scoring at all and the clock ran out? Yeah, we'd all just be like "Good game". But nope, we just HAD to have that play right before the end of the game to make us all cry :P

Well, I think I'm mentally calm enough to comment on the game without threatening and/or insulting everyone and their mothers. Although, my opinion has already been shared by other people: The Patriots didn't win, the Seahawks lost. It is . . . the smallest of comforts. I still kinda-sorta want to punch Tom Brady in the face, just because he's Tom Brady.

Just read this and it made me laugh :p

I'm Rob Lowe and I have Direct TV.

I'm incredibly stupid Rob Lowe and I call a pass play when I have the most powerful running back in the NFL one yard away from winning the Super Bowl for me, and I have cable.

It was a good game though, until the last minute at least.

If the Seahawks had converted that play for a TD, Carroll would've been hailed as a genius. It wasn't a bad playcall, especially against a goaline formation, the Patriots had just studied that play a lot in the film room and the DB stepped up and made a huge play.

That's the way it works. When you take a risk (and it was a major risk) you get bonus points for being "gutsy" if it works out, but if it doesn't, it was the worst call ever. Personally, as someone who was hoping and praying that the Seahawks could pull it off, I didn't like that play call. I'm not gonna say it was terrible, but it was second down. Give Lynch at least one chance, then try that play on third down if you're going to use it.

I agree but maybe the coach had to go to the bathroom really, really badly and just wanted the game over.

It was really a game of chess. Bellicheck baited Carroll into the decision. Seahawks come out in shotgun expecting a timeout from the Pats since they came out in goaline, but BB didn't call the timeout and it was a favorable matchup, so Pete decided fuck it. The Pats had seen this play and look on film and anticipated it well, Butler was beat on that route in practice but he jumped it this time and sealed the win. I have no problem with the playcall, also Marshawn was 1-5 in that situation this season. When you get down to that area, it's more on the line than the back and I doubt the Hawks could've got the push required, especially against a goaline set. Really what should've been called was a zone read, the Pats were blowing contain the whole game.

:(

The biggest disappointment of the Super Bowl season this year was that the Patriots had deflate-gate happen and still won. I was looking forward to watching the Seahawks crush them.....

....and then that throw happened.

Alright guys, we're headed to the offseason. Y'all can still talk about the Super Bowl, but I need some help.

First off, I need a snarky title. Corrian, I bet you want to help me out?

And secondly, any suggestions on what the OP should consist of?

It was the greatest last sixty seconds of football I've ever seen. What really decided it was the inept play calling for a pass, yes, but the game could still have been Seattle. The Patriots couldn't take the knee without a safety, then Seattle's infamous penalty record lost them the Superbowl for good. Goes to show how penalties can make or break it.

Hawks were the most penalized team in the league when they won it, Ravens were in the Top 5 when they won it too, IIRC.
