As an Eagles fan, this is probably the least excited I've been for the start of the NFL season in almost a decade. The team jettisoned all of their key offensive play makers the past several years and replaced them with scrubs. Mathews is a decent back but he's prone to injury. Trading significant draft capital for a developmental small school QB was disappointing too. At least the defense will be better.

That's a little too high. I wouldn't put high expectations on them nor the Jaguars. Sure they have young talent, but they lack postseason experience for a long time.

Well, if you look close to the end of the year, the Jags started to improve. If you add a Solid Running Back, Two impressive Wide-Outs, and a suddenly scary D behind a Talented QB what could go wrong?

Their running back is in his second year, Robinson and Hurns are young, too. Bortles is another youngling, as well as Jack and Ramsay on defense. I still think they could use some veteran leadership, though.

The 5 Oldest players on the Jags Roster are Lewis, Posluszny, Bernadeau, Henne, and Dan Skuta, which combined have 46 years of experience.

The 5 oldest players on the Raiders roster have a combined 56 years of expierience.

Not much of a difference there. I like comparing the jags to the raiders- both are young teams and didn't do so well last year, but both are trending upward this year.

FWIW I think the Jags will be significantly better than the Eagles this season. Arguably one of the best young offensive corps in the league and that defense is going to be much improved from last year.

Oakland is not going 10-6 KC has the best chance to win their division, likewise I see Houston winning the AFC South and the colts will be lucky to get over .500. I have no problem with the NFC North :p. I think Washington will play spoiler again. Carolina I doubt they'll go 14-2 maybe 11-5.

I really hope Flacco's knee holds up this year. He's done a great job of recovering and taking his time, waiting out the pre-season, but it would be very easy to fall on it wrong in the pocket or take a low hit.

That said, best of luck to the Ravens, and I'll continue to be one of our primary supporters of the Seahawks! 8)

Yep. Painful. But every team has their bonehead moments. I've been a Seattle fan since 1983; after so many years of obscurity, the recent surge in success is just peachy, even when we make inexplicably terrible calls at the goal line with the Super Bowl at stake. :)

I wouldn't sign him at all at this point. They offered him the farm and he turned it down.

On the other hand though, I do have to wonder what the holdup actually is, it just doesn't make sense.

When I first heard the story I thought he was asking for more money than he deserved, now I know they were willing to give it to him and he still turned it down. Kid's a brat, now the Chargers are gonna suffer because he's gonna miss games. I'd trade him as soon as possible, see if you could get someone who might be a little more grateful for what they're getting.

It's such a red flag though that I'd question any GM willing to trade for him. Kid is shooting himself in the foot, no way I'd trust him at this point. He'll just do it again when the contract is up.
