Indeed. It works the same as bank bailouts and other corporate handouts. The corporation, or sports franchise always wins, and the taxpayer always loses.

And of course, sports franchises have no economic benefits for the communities they are located in.

I'm loving this turnover fest in Indy. And the Jags won today!
Today's actually looking quite good!

The Jets are good. With a better QB they are going to be a full load. Patriots can't afford any mistakes in the second half. Jets are smelling success.

Saints have the Colts number still. Yeah Jags! Go Lions, Titans and Bucs! Ravens need to be all alone with one win, nailing down a top draft pick.

Funny how some of these teams get blown out and the Ravens have lost 5 games by 22 total points. This MNF game with the Cardinals in Zona might break that trend.

Wow... that was a good game. My compliments to the Jets who look like contenders, and better than at anytime since a certain Bill Belichick was their DC.

What a difference it makes to have a coach who let's his team doing the talking (Bowles) rather than running his mouth issueing checks his team cannot cash (Ryan).

Though we did see a glimmer of those SOJ (Same Old Jets) right at the end

The deal with the devil to win Super Bowl III must have been on a 50 year contract at minimum.
Wide open Brandon Marshall dropping a TD pass which could have given them a 10 point lead. Bad luck or was it the invisible hand of beelzebub.

Beelzebub or Darth Belichick ;)

The Pats had several unforced drops and effed up badly during the onside kick. Both teams made mistakes, the Jets simply made one more.

For those who wonder why time expired after that last play, the NFL rulebook sez:

Timing in Final Two Minutes of Each Half

On kickoff, clock does not start until the ball has been legally touched by player of either team in the field of play. (In all other cases, clock starts with kickoff.)
A team cannot buy an excess time out for a penalty. However, a fourth time out is allowed without penalty for an injured player, who must be removed immediately. A fifth time out or more is allowed for an injury and a five-yard penalty is assessed if the clock was running. Additionally, if the clock was running and the score is tied or the team in possession is losing, the ball cannot be put in play for at least 10 seconds on the fourth or more time out. The half or game can end while those 10 seconds are run off on the clock.
If the defensive team is behind in the score and commits a foul when it has no time outs left in the final 40 seconds of either half, the offensive team can decline the penalty for the foul and have the time on the clock expire.
Fouls that occur in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter as well as the last two minutes of the first half will result in the clock starting on the snap.

Since the Jets didn't have a time out left the game was over.

I liked how BB took his headset off right when it happened.

But in the end, you know in your heart, the Falcons will fuck it up. They win the division and then it's one and done. Its 50 years of this shit since Tommy Nobis was the first Falcon player ever. Ho-Hum.

Beating a 1-5 team like the Titans who areusing a backup QB by only a FG is not impressive. Just sayin'.
