Oh, the poor Redskins :(

I'm not even a Redskins fan, yet their epic saga of sorrow makes me weep.

Some tragic poet needs to write that shit down. A Tale of Bad Shit 1999-??? is the human race's next Romeo and Juliet. Raiders may have a claim to outdo even that, but I don't know . .

As a Pats fan, it is hard to hear about things like SpyGate and DeflateGate and continue to support the team (yes, seriously), but I've been a Pats fan for most of my life. It's hard not to be full of pride at the moment to see them win such a close game; especially since we all know that Seattle was the better team.

At the same time, I can only imagine the pain Seahawks fans feel right now. What an absolutely terrible call to not let Lynch run it in.

wow petty much

The Redskins losing is more directly a result of Dan Snyder's actions than RG3 or the defense.

I think this is the main reason me, as a non-sports fan who only really pays attention when Seahawks are being noteworthy, is even feeling frustrated and disappointed right now. Damn, I didn't think sports could hit me :P My brains still going and thinking that they should have it freaking in right now and that they should be celebrating, not probably strangling themselves at the moment :P

I don't think passing in that situation was all that bad of a call, I just think that particular call was awful. With the Patriots selling out to stop Lynch, a play action lob to the back corner of the end zone would have essentially been uncovered. Forcing a pass into the middle of the goal line, where the whole defense was standing, was terrible.

We'll hear all sorts of rationale in the coming weeks, but there'll never really be an explanation that isn't shit.

They didn't play each other this season. Unless you're referring to the preseason, but that doesn't really count.

I'll bet Bevell had money on the Pats. It's the only reasonable explanation. But without evidence we'll never know for sure.

Spygate has always been a non issue for me. It's more a sign of illogical NFL outdated rules than anything else IMO. You can employ a guy whose sole job would be to watch for and remember hand signals but you can't film it. That just seems illogical to me. Also I think a lot of teams have done the same thing in the past so the whole outrage reeks of hypocrisy from a lot of corners.

To top it all off the Patriots had a better win percentage in the few years after the incident than they did the few years before it.

2nd down with 20 seconds on the half yard line, one timeout. I'm no football genius, but obviously you run it there no matter who your RB is, regardless of having BeastMode. If you don't get in, call your timeout, throw it on third. If it is incomplete on third, it comes down to one last play, your choice of run or pass. WTF?

Tomorrow is Groundhog Day. Does that mean Darrell Bevell gets to get up and have a second chance at making the right play call?

What I will say is that the investigation into deflategate better ramp up now that the Superbowl is over and done with. And if Belichick is found to be complicit in these rules violations, then he ought to be handed a heavy suspension at the very least.
