Umm Texas does not teach creationism. I live in Texas and have gone to school in Texas most of my schooling, the most they do is in Wold History teach about different religions in an un-biased way from the text book and then in science teach the different theorys. In no way shape or form do they teach "God created the earth" or say "The big bang happened then evolution God isnt real" they teach what others think and let you make your own opinion like the rest of America. Schools arent allowed to teach anything else when it comes to that, unless it is a privet school then they can teach whatever they want.

so basically, they can teach you that illness is caused by witchcraft in health class. whether or not they teach anything else, how is this not a big problem.

also you are misusing the word theory, had they taught you actual science you might know that.

but I do agree the summer break is far to long.

Well no i wasnt saying that exactly, i was saying the only way a school could teach creationism as fact or evolution is if it were a privet school. And in science they had to teach the 3 theorys the big bang, the one where the universe grows then shrinks, and the one where its been the same as its always been. I understand where the confusion came from i should of worded it better. and yes the summer break is way too long my senior year is only half way over and second semester is where we actually learn calculas in pre-cal.

Thanks for clarifying.
the US has the longest break from school in the industrialized world and it exceeds the 52 day limit on constructive retention, its no wonder we have some many problems with education, kids loose a letter grade in reading ability over that long a break.

I got quite annoyed after the Haiti earthquake. A baby was taken from the wreckage and people said it was a miracle. It would have been a miracle had God stopped the earthquake. Does that include summer school?

considering the vast majority of US students do not go to summer school I would say no.
of course in many places with summer school it still exceeds the 52 days,

Edit sorry thats the 54 day limit.

And having such a long summer break we spend half the next school year re-learning what we should of remembered. And we are so concered with our grades we forget to actually learn. We study and study for one test and as soon as its over we toss all that information aside because we just needed it to pass and when you care too much about your grade then actually learning you do anything you can, like cheat because that grade is more imortant then actually learning the material. And theres one quote i love thats something along the lines of "everyone is a gunius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its life thinking its stupid" which i see so often. My SOs younger sister just started highschool this year and feels she is a failure because she is not good at math or biology, no one is good at everything people have strong points and weak points but according to our school systems if you cant be great at everything your stupid.
