Last I checked, England did not have an army to speak of. If it were an option, I would certainly choose either the army of Great Britain, or that of Israel.

Indivdually trained, and equiped, it's the UK.

In terms of, lets put your entire army here, and have it fight against X, it's probably the USA.

If it's 'Fight a war and see who wins' it's clearly no-one, because everyone on that list, (expect possibly north Korea) has enough nukes to render the question pointless.

If your looking purely at equipment, it's probably either the USA, or UN.

If your looking from a historical perspective... Then I think it's England, given that they've had a significantly longer time to take over the world. The USA has far to many black marks, (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq...) in too shorter space of time, and has never fought a war on their own turf, (Certainly not without the help of a zillion foregin allies) to be a good judge. The French were pretty kick ass under Napoelon of course, but since then they've epically failed.

Russia in WW2 was probably the most powerful nation in the World, bar none, in terms of the Army, while the USA took the cake in terms of Naval Capacity.

The Chinese do have one kick ass airforce though. How do we score points for different branches of the services here?

The bold = Wrong. The Chinese got nothing on the largest, most well-equipped and one of the most well-trained airforces in the world (USAF, duh).

To be fair to the UN, you cant physically just "Nuke" it like you can with NK. I suppose if you want to get technical, you can level Manhatten with a nuke. But that as you can guess, is a no no. Because the US will then blow the living shit out of your country and be partying in the ruins within an hour.
