I do wonder how you got that out of my post.

Read the thread topic question:

"Why do you think the Lower-Classes Act More Informal?"

It is a question, is all. Yes or no would suffice.
I derived that train of thinking by you explaining that the lower classes act more informal because they are not the upper class. Yes, that is a slanted question with the obvious assumption that the lower class are entirely devoid of formality, but your answer seems to reinforce its assumption, though.

What do you define as an "actual job"?

Employment, federal recognition of income through selling of labor or products. To acquire such a job, age would matter. To acquire a job of another caliber (unofficially working with the family business, for example), age holds less as a requirement.

Being oneself is considered to be simpler than pretending to be something one isn't, sure. But think of it this way: as poor people try to work hard and do so, they have little to no time to pretend to be something. It consumes energy that can be used for working instead.

Well, vast wealth and, in the case of the aristocracy, titles and illustrious family histories.

We have much more than formality, sir, that separates us from the masses: more wealth then they have, titles and estates. This does not make us better than them, of course. It is simply their manner.

Your nation is like a son. What it does right is your merit, as well as what it does wrong is your fault. When you praise it, be lucid and avoid exaggeration. Praising it too much can make it indolent. On the other hand, when you criticize it, be harsh, but do not ridicule it. Do your best to improve it, not through derision or disdain, but through good examples and dedication.

Because we're 'ard bruv, you cannae 'stand our talk when you're a wee bastard with a ton o' cash :p (I'd describe myself as lower middle-class, but you sound like the kinda posh bastard who turns his nose at "those wretched lower classes" when you just mean anybody poorer than you. Yes, that kind of person does exist. I'm only partially stereotyping.)

Seriously, it's because there's not much time to practice "formality" when you're struggling to keep it above the poverty line. Sure, no one's going to drop dead if they speak poshly, but there's no point - No one needs to please diplomats and it's a hell of a lot easier to act normally.

Because you went to a shit school, where it looked far more profitable to join a gang then learn. So you worked bloody hard to keep your family going by doing your daily drug run, while those richer than you could afford to study. Rather than building up nine thousand in debt for university, you went to work down the local pit. You worked hard day in day out, but you had no education, no connections and that meant you had no way upwards.

When the pit closes, you have no job, no education, no experience elsewhere. You've worked hard to bring in income all your life, but now you're confined to a council house with no jobs available and just £6 a week unemployment benefit.
