Some days it seems to me that NSG is a better teacher than most schools, once you get past all the snark. The people debating the issues are people doing it because they care, not because they get paid to do it.

It is common for many people to get a religious divorce, but in the interests of insurance keep their secular marriage.

In Brazil people tend to never religiously divorce, just change their parish for convenience, given how the Roman Catholic Church doesn't allow it but the IIRC Brazilian Catholic Church is OK about that.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like this khruschyovka-littered district of mine. There's a surprising sense of community among us in the particular district of Vilnius that I live in.

It's exactly why I like it that I'm an anti-capitalist. It's pretty much dying, you see, and there's no way in hell it will ever be restored if things continue as they are. Our city's mayor is a jackass who keeps making life in here impossible.

Leftist/right-wing seems a fairly narrow definition to me. And they don't seem to mean what they used to.
American Left is closer to Center in europe, IIRC, and American Right is...pretty far out there, compared to most, at least from my understanding.

I don't really consider myself any particular political affiliation, I just think people deserve to be treated like people.
