I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

I agree creationism is a possibility, we all know that the Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe and Earth, before Earth has created the universe was nothing but Lasagna(blech).

After 7 days, The Flying Spaghetti Monster created Breadsticks to inhabit the earth, and those breadsticks evolved into humans. That's my interpretation of creationism, so we MUST teach it.

Lies!!! We all know the Earth was a creation of Chaos deciding to take a big dump in our general, present day location. The evidence is unquestionable! Earth is brown, and shit is brown!!! This is irrefutable fact! And we all know the sun came to be because Chaos lit a cigarette on the toilet while he was dropping a deuce that just so happened to contain some flammable gas!

Earth is brown? What are ya gonna tell me next, Santa is white??

What a relief. Education is so crucial in its role of molding the next generation and by extension, the future of humanity. Philosophy, or at the very least, empiricism plus logic and critical thinking needs to be in the core curriculum to help battle such horrid misinformation.

We were taught creationism for one hour. At the end of that class we were told that evolution was false, and that they were "obliged" to teach us that.

The rest of the time it was creationism, not teach the controversy bullshit.

Probably just the "Divinely Approved", stripped down version of science, if anything.

I can possibly offer insight. I am forced to take Christian Fundamentalist classes and they dislike everything non Christian. Thats just in my Geography book. So probably not.

Frankly, considering the overwhelming evidence, I think it's a damn shame that it the Texas Board of Education actually spent three whole months seriously considering this, instead of throwing out this proposal as soon as it reached their desks.

Your thoughts, NSG?

I know, that's what surprises me.

That's an irregularity for sure.

Yep. Given the existence of those guys and the Opus Dei, the continued existence of Catholic creationism is not that strange.

It must have been something diocesan.

Need a name, it looks like you're still online and reading this thread.

Are you actually going to respond to any of the evidence that has been posted?
I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.
