Everyone, can we not go off topic, United, can speak however he pleases. If he enjoys speaking that way, he should be able to without being attacked and harassed for it. Harassment will only get this topic locked.

I would've preferred that you specify what exactly you meant by "Communist/communism", since some ideologies are downright horrible (Stalinism and Maoism, for instance), whereas some have great qualities (Marxism, Luxembourgism, Trotskyism), and others are, kind of, on the fence (Marxism-Leninism, De Leonism, etc.). I also like libertarian socialism and council communism. All the same, I feel there are things that should be fixed in Communism (the fact that it's usually been used to replace the old bourgeoisie with a new one, comes to mind) and things that should be kept (the ideas of direct democracy and democratic centralism--Leninist though the latter may be).

1. What do you have particularly against Marxism? Do you disagree with the philosophy of dialectical materialism or somthing of that nature?

2. You do realize that dictatorship of the proletariat refers to a period where the proletariat will be the dominate class in society? In that sense we are in the dictatorship of the bourgeois at the moment.

I understand dictatorship of the proletariat to mean a government of the proletariat, but 1. any government at all would be an impedement to total freedom and Communism, whether it be a bourgeois dictatorship or a proletarian dictatorship. 2. A truly communist society would transcend class and government, where 3. Marxist's 'transitional' government has the power to stay pernament and create a new class and a new hierarchical structure.

1. Incorrect. Communism, or any other anarchic ideology, will have a government. It is the state that is abolished.

2. A communist society would abolish the state, not the government.

3. You can't just leap from capitalist society to communism. You must a have a socialist transitional phase, a dictatorship of the proletariat. Money, class, and the state or to ingrained to abolish them overnight.

Incorrect, as a new ruling class would be antithetical to the abolition of classes advocated by communism. Both would have to go, the state and ruling class.

Not that specific example, but yes to a certain extant. If we go back to before the agricultural revolution, we have tribal socieities owning virtually all the land on earth in common (with the obvious exceptions of Antarctic, etc.).

So you admit to being wrong then? After all, the claim was that all land is stolen. Where is your proof that this common ownership ended on theft?
