Putting someone "in their place" is bad for sentiment.
Hence WWII. Which is why the denazification process of Nazi Germany was very different, along with the postwar occupation of Japan.

Absolutely they it was a much different process, but that doesn't mean they can't do it. I am not going to get into all the "well they could" or "what if''s" but they are not going to invade but I do understand being weary. It's human nature, if a criminal gets rehabilitated and is later released after a crime, the people will still be a little more weary.

Japan could develop nuclear weapons in a week..... they even said so and they have some Uranium and the scientists to do so. If Japan can develop Robots and lasers (not laser guns) fare beyond any other nation, it tells you something. As for South Korea they won't have nukes anytime soon.

Actually there's an article I read awhile back that pointed out the fact that Japan has developed pretty much all of the technology, infrastructure and materials to build a respectable nuclear arsenal. If pressed, they'd be able to deploy a significant number ICBMs within months. China can build up their stockpile a bunch in that time, but not US/Russia levels in that time.

In a War with China, the Americans would be the dominant power for much of the first year. As SOON as reliance on advanced tech is replaced on reliance of numbers, The war would turn into a Korea. (Keep going until bullets run out)

Chinese air space would, and can be penetrated. Their navy is primarily coastal and would be eliminated by air superiority and a MUCH more advanced Naval power. (Chinese Navy is almost a complete mockery, The Air Craft carrier they have doesn't even have planes)

Now I'm not just being overtly nationalistic, I am speaking sense. A war with China would be crippling to both Nations, and either way I doubt they will try to enrage the other. What China did smart was realize something the Soviets never did. A Communist power (or pseudo communist in china's case) will not beat American's Militarily, it will economically. China is pretty happy just racking up their cash, They would not risk it in a military conflict which would devastate them and the US. (Maybe in 25 years, but even then probably not)

SK used to have a nuclear weapons program, but the US told SK to discontinue it.

Japan has a large amount of nuclear reactors, and that's a big part of the reason why people say Japan could shortly and easily develop nuclear weapons.

Are you kiding me? Japan out spent the China entire 20th century after World War 2. China probably surpassed Japan only few years ago regarding military spending.

Even though they outspent china in Military spending China could still easily defeat japan. For two reasons
1. China has nuclear weapons
2. the size of the Chinese army is enormous and could probably just win through numbers alone.

Then again anything could happen.

Two reasons why china isn't a threat
1.they would never use there Nuckes
2.China's Army is huge but Navy and Air force is Crap compared to almost anyone

That's a myth. The JMSDF never said anything about buying F-35Bs for the Izumo-class, or Ospreys for that matter. Plus even if they did buy F-35Bs, the Izumo-class couldn't operate them, the exhaust would melt the deck. A and C variants of the F-35 are out of the picture for obvious reasons.
