Yes. Because war forums, with all the conspiracies attached, are definitely credible sources.

The majority of them have the sources to back it up.

Not sure if you're confusing "war forum" with something else, but my mind leapt to "military enthusiasts", personally.

I have no idea why everybody thinks China is able to just wipe japan out through sheer numbers. I mean china doesn't have the most formidable air force or navy on the planet. Unless the PRC strategy in a war against japan is too use wooden rafts to transport their entire army across the ocean to the land of the rising sun, I don't think the Chinese numerical superiority is going to mean much in an offensive capacity.

Defense is another story, but we're talking about invading japan, so...

In five years, China will have a capable carrier force.
Within two decades, China will have a large carrier force, and likely a capable stealth aircraft fleet.

China also has ownership of long and medium range missiles launching conventional payloads which can be launched from shore or naval installations and ships.

seeing as we only go to war to get more profit or when our profit is threatened... yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say it would dictate our involvment.

WWI was not very profitable.

The gulf war was also not very profitable.

Following WWI, the western powers got to carve up the German empire.
Following the Gulf War, cheap oil was secured for the West.

No they fucking won't and whoever said that should be awarded with the most creative mind for the most stupid bullshit of the year. Think about it, they can barely feed their own population. They're more likely to wind up in another civil war in the near future and their currency is already showing signs of weakening through inflation despite hold a large ass asset in US debt(said debt is likely why they're weakening, since it's likely the western world will not be able to pay back it's debts with botched currency.)

The only plausible scenario I've seen where china becomes a major threat is one where China enters a civil war lasting several years where it's government emerges victorious, followed by the collapse of the US dollar ad the Yeng becomes the world's reserve currency, leading to a second great depression in the world. Afterward a neo-USSR state rises in Russia after it's government is toppled, and the middle east unites to form an islamofascist empire similar to the ottoman empire up to the 20th century. Then after 50 or so years where if these powers assist one another in developing the technology to surpass western tech by even a little, forming a military bloc/alliance, and adopting a military doctrine of exactly like Nazi Germany would these powers then be suicidally inclined to attempt a war against the rest of the motherfucking world.

Even then, the chances of victory in what would become motherfucking world war 3 pitting one half of the world against the other half would not be good. So do you get what I'm saying? I'm saying china is fucked, and we're fucked too. We have all this awesome technology and we're scared as shit of using it against one another on a large scale in the real possibility we nuke the world in the process. All we have to look forward too is dick-waving with expensive toys and proxy wars in shithole countries. Oh and I'm the goddamn Batman.

What money if any were gained from carving up the war torn German empire was a pittance in comparison to what the war destroyed.
Which is why gas shot up to 5 a gallon then the economy collapsed.

Despite the Keynesian mantra war is not good for the economy, it is only good for those who profiteer.

It is rather horrific-we all do know what happened last time the Japanese built up their military. It is highly-possible they are not doing it for protection as they often tell the world, but are preparing to annex Asia once more.

Yeah... China wasn't a superpower back then, and there are these things called nukes that make global war pretty hard nowadays.
