Piano, mostly classical or contemporary stuff. I tried to play violin... so hard, for a while, but it was just too time-demanding and I wound up giving it up.

I used to sing once upon a time, but I never recovered after the age of fifteen or so. I still try, though!

Trumpet, though I haven't played in a few years. A bit too loud for an apartment, and the mutes that convert to headphones are a bit too expensive for me.

Maybe I'll take up guitar when I move. Always wanted to learn.

I play piano, organ, trombone, guitar and autoharp.

I was in marching and pep band in high school, had a rock group called "The Montereys", played in dance band in college and dixieland after graduation.

I was once drafted to play backup with Jackson Brown at a club on Rush Street in Chicago.

I played piano in Chi town on upper Monroe at "That Certain Touch" piano bar.

My buddy from law school and I played folk music around the city with a sexy talented singer named Suzie; she got a full time gig and a record deal but he and I were left out.

i worked up a rap and dance routine with 20 inner city kids based on "Jesus Love Me'", to the bo-diddley beat.

My more recent experiences have been filling in as church organist now and then, and playing rhythm guitar for a Guyanese praise band. I wrote a song dedicated to them with a lyric from Joshua 1:9.
"Life is difficult".

But that is a fatuous answer, for those who are satisfied to mind their own business do not aspire to become authorities." ~ Thomas Szasz

Bass guitar, and I'm always vaguely embarassed to mention it when there's people who play 'proper' instruments around.

Most hit songs that can be recognized within their first four beats
and mainly recognizable because of the bass line.

Sure it's just my opinion.

I'm not talking about guitars or that kind of thing, I mean more like the kind of instruments you'll hear in an orchestra.

If it's any consolation, there are several orchestral pieces with parts for bass guitar.

Although we'll still look down on you because Vivaldi never wrote any concertos for it, did he? And he wrote concertos for everything! Even obsolete instruments!

Why would it not count? It uses the same physics of vibrating air columns and strings. In fact, I'd argue it's the best musical instrument there is.
