"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

They're all the same. I have an alto, I played the tenor the most, but I loooove the bari. Never had an opportunity to play anything lower.

I know someone that plays clarinet and sucks (in the literal sense), but that's because he's a homosexual, not because he plays clarinet.

Of course you are. Clarinets blow, like all other wind instruments.

Pianist, although I don't practice. Also a composer and scholar of music. (Wow, that sounded pretentious.)

The fiddle and violin are played in different styles and often tuned differently as well. Moreover, the venues they are performed in are completely different.

Some people can play in both styles. Most aren't trained to. It's a bit like the difference between a classical pianist and a jazz pianist: sure, they might be the same instrument, but a classical pianist will not be very comfortable at a jam session with a band in a club and a jazz pianist will likewise have difficulties with Sequenza IV solo in the concert hall, without training in the other style of playing.

Piano is one of my favorite instruments, although generally not the most economical on space requirements or cost.

Some of the most beautiful music was written for the piano.

I play the violin, though I haven't taken it out in ages. This thread is just making me feel guilty now. :(

EDIT: And what I play is most definitely a violin. While fiddle music is fine and entertaining, I never learned how to play it. (Unless I read it off sheet music, in which case it's not really fiddle music.)
