You'd presumably pick which child to end the life of. Just pick a young cancer patient with no hope of recovery who wants to die, and you're set.

True, but I've been watching Trailer Park Boys on Netflix tonight and that quote was too appropriate not to post.

I usually don't agree with you, but right now I do. The greater good outweighs one person, and besides, you could always just euthanize a dying child and achieve the same result. And if your political ideology or moral system is wrong, gaining knowledge will correct that.

You're being unrealistic.

You clearly don't have an intention to save lives if you were willing to kill to get into a position to save them!

Knowledge is like power. And you know how the saying goes:"Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Power, money, knowledge, they are all the same type thing: they don't really change the person you are, they just change the degree that you preform at within your personality. If you were willing to kill a child to get to this position, then you are willing to kill an innocent. That willingness would be magnified by your intelligence. If you were willing to kill a child as the average-intelligence Kefka, then you would be willing to kill a child as super-intelligence Kefka. The only difference is now you have an even bigger stage, even more methods, and even more possibilities to pull it off.

Your logic is flawed though...

The scenario only allows me to gain intelligence ONCE by killing just one child.

So whatever killing I do after... would have to be for the greater good or for my own personal gain (and as I've already said countless times, under the capitalist structure providing solutions to the world's problems is very profitable financially)

But what would be the purpose of killing more children as a super intelligent version of yourself? This thread isn't about killing children for the sake of killing children, it's about killing children for the greater good of increasing the intelligence of the world. If you became smart enough to cure any one type of cancer, you would be saving more lives than you ended.

By the standards of someone who is smarter than you. If you became more intelligent, and your opinion on politics or morality was wrong, a logical extension of gaining more intelligence would be that the right ideology would be revealed to you.

An idiotic bit of propaganda means nothing. Power doesn't corrupt any more than weakness makes you pure.

According to your rules. I was playing with Timothia's rules...

Timothia wrote:
God Kefka wrote:
1. How much smarter?

2. Smarter in what way and with respect to which skills?

3. Would I get caught?

4. Which children?

1. Smart enough to be considered the smartest person in history.
2. In every way and in every aspect of your life, you would be mentally superior to every peer.
3. No, but you would never forget it.
4. A random child from {insert the name of a local grocery store here}.

Would you do it?

See? No stipulation that extra killings do anything.

With these rules, I have every incentive to make the world and myself better after just one killing. Condition 2 can only be achieved once.

What's the incentive for me to go on a pointless killing spree after?

After gaining intelligence, you may or may not find out that capitalism isn't the best system, or you may find out that it is the perfect system. What matters is that you now understand what is right, which is why gaining the intelligence is a good thing, no matter what you believe in prior to the increase in intelligence.
