I have every right to be suspicious that (if you are willing to kill a child in the name of science, knowledge, and the "greater good") you would not handle the knowledge very responsibly. That's not a knock on you, I don't think that I would be able to handle it very well either. We are people. We want to be good, but we often fall short. I wouldn't want my shortcomings to potentially cost the lives of millions of people if I misuse my genius. I am -and always will be - suspicious of the level of self-control and morals possessed by a person who has no qualms with killing a child.
Sorry for the late reply, dinnertime is over now.

Cant fall short when you have top tier intelligence in EVERY field of human achievement and a general intention to save lives...
You're being unrealistic.

You clearly don't have an intention to save lives if you were willing to kill to get into a position to save them!
Knowledge is like power. And you know how the saying goes:"Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Power, money, knowledge, they are all the same type thing: they don't really change the person you are, they just change the degree that you preform at within your personality. If you were willing to kill a child to get to this position, then you are willing to kill an innocent. That willingness would be magnified by your intelligence. If you were willing to kill a child as the average-intelligence Kefka, then you would be willing to kill a child as super-intelligence Kefka. The only difference is now you have an even bigger stage, even more methods, and even more possibilities to pull it off.

I usually don't agree with you, but right now I do. The greater good outweighs one person, and besides, you could always just euthanize a dying child and achieve the same result. And if your political ideology or moral system is wrong, gaining knowledge will correct that.

Will it? Would knowledge really change your system or ideologies? After all, it was that system or ideology that allowed you to kill someone! Besides, correct it to something that is right by whose standards? By your standards? By my standards? By religious standards? By cultural standards? By the child-murderer's standards?

Your logic is flawed though...
The scenario only allows me to gain intelligence ONCE by killing just one child.
So whatever killing I do after... would have to be for the greater good or for my own personal gain (and as I've already said countless times, under the capitalist structure providing solutions to the world's problems is very profitable financially)

True, that kind of thing could become somewhat exponential.

It isn't just once, with every new death a more IQ is added to you.

2. In every way and in every aspect of your life, you would be mentally superior to every peer.
3. No, but you would never forget it.
4. A random child from {insert the name of a local grocery store here}.
Would you do it?

And yet I would just need to solve cancer or come up with a new economic plan that could save millions to repay the debt...
What incentives do I have to keep killing children for no reason?
After one killing, I'm already the smartest person on the planet and I don't think there's a stipulation I could kill more for more intelligence.
