Actually, I would. If it's to become smarter, why not? I have nothing to lose I guess.

EDIT: I should add that many factors play into this. Such as the children's age, history, and how smart would I become?

Scratch that. I retract this statement.

Looks like someone hasn't been taught the difference between guilt and shame.

Are you just afraid that I might make the world a better place?

I have every material incentive to do it under the capitalist structure even in the very worst case where I'm just a self-interested bastard.

I am afraid of taking the enormous risk that you could actually plunge the world into a worse place than it is already in. It is a big freaking risk to take, and I wouldn't trust you to use your knowledge in the right way.

It's not that I don't want people to make the world a better place, I just don't think it is worth the risk involved in this scenario.

Elaborate, unless that was supposed to be some weak dismissal to what I said. In that case, I really don't want to hear what you have to say.

it depends on how much intelligence you gain... if as one poster stipulated you gain intelligence that allows you to be no. 1 at EVERY field of human endeavor...

then I think it's safe to say you benefit the world more by getting rid of the child than keeping the child.

Think about it... if someone without superhuman intelligence could discover penicillin and save millions through a simple accident... how much more could someone with superhuman intelligence in EVERY field of human achievement accomplish? They could save billions of lives a billion times over perhaps...

at some threshold of intelligence gained, you have to start seeing it as not only morally permissible, but as morally praiseworthy and morally obligatory.

Think about what is best for humanity as a whole... not only about the child's life.

How about you put those "brains" towards learning some proper grammar? Mind you, you're completely fine with murdering children, so butchering the English language shouldn't be too much of an issue for you.
