They "work" because you think they do. It's called the placebo effect. The placebo effect works with pretty much anything, and the whole point of modern medicine is to do better than the placebo effect.

There's also a pretty big difference between "wild herb" and "purified chemical that was originally discovered from an extract of said wild herb".

Complementary and alternative medicine (AKA CAM, SCAM (S = supplements), integrative medicine) is total bullshit. I am ashamed of the fact that there's an integrative medicine club on my campus.

You have to prove that homeopathic medicine has an effect that is BETTER than placebo, using peer reviewed scientific studies that do NOT come from journals such as Homeopathy or Natural Medicine Journal or the like.
