This is comparable to stating one is only either straight or asexual: the common or the opposite thereof.

Well your argument for gods was that humans are gods to other species.
Since no species on this planet would be gods to us, that leaves only an alien species.

Yes, it is.

It's a false comparison, though.

Why is it false? Sexuality and faith are both psychological at their roots.

I'm not entertaining your shitty threadjack about sexuality.

i suppose so. but alien is really a relative term. I live in the us and here we call Mexicans aliens as well as little green men.I have this other not well thought out theory that our solar system is really like an atom with the Sun being the nucleus and the plnets being the revolving electrons . all of our solar systems combining to form a galaxy, all the galaxies forming a universe all the universes forming something i don't know, and all those forming something else. always getting bigger and bigger, for all we know we could actully live in the stomach of a giant lifeform. Similar to how we have millions of different types of bacteria living in our stomachs. vomiting could be an act of god and dying would mean the eventual ending of the world (for the bacteria in our stomachs, of course they would have a good long time to survive from the dead flesh as well). just a bit of analogy that i also have no evidence for but is fun to ponder.

No, you're not going to provide any reasoning as to your claim that agnosticism is not a legitimate belief and you're going to defend it with a miscomprehension of the analogy which you are further unwilling to provide a true argument against.

Oh, please. Having "Agnostic atheists" and "Agnostic theists" is like having "Straight bisexuals" and "Gay bisexuals." Why do you have to have a "Best guess?" Can't you just have "No guess?"

The atheist believes that God doesn't exist, and doesn't believe He does exist.
The theist doesn't believe that God doesn't exist, and believes He does exist.
The agnostic doesn't believe that God doesn't exist, and doesn't believe He does exist.

There, three categories, done.

Now can we please resume saving the world?

In a sense, I suppose. He's just an atheist who doesn't specifically think God doesn't exist either.

Though, I wouldn't refer to him as one. Terminology failure, but not really terminology failure which is relevant to the topic.

Right, which is the fundamental definition of atheism. Not sure why you made that unnecessarily complicated.

So atheism is not a lack of belief in a god, but a lack of belief in a lack of belief in a god.

Not sure why you made that unnecessarily complicated.

Yeah, but then the agnostic theist is occupying a rather unfortunate slot in my analysis.
