Black Americans haven't had any discrimination against them since the 1960s. Homosexual Americans have had discrimination since the Americas were colonized, and still face discrimination.

Uh... that's not true. Blacks still face a significant amount of discrimination in the United States.

The point is that we don't face any discrimination that homosexuals also do not face.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Everyone on this site is somebody influenced by all of the media which they have seen, to believe in this gay marriage institution...How sad.........

1: Most media is against same-sex marriage.
2: "gay marriage institution" Fucking really? Is that what the cool kids call same-sex marriage now?
3: "How sad" Boo freaking who; lemme play you a sad song on the world's smallest violin.

Great, so gay marriage should be legal.

Got it.

False. I was influenced by scientific research, introspection and experience to believe in equal rights for LGBT people. It's not sad at all. What I find sad is that you continue to whine about those you consider to be on the "wrong" side of this debate, when all of them have, thus far, presented far better arguments than you have in your entire stay in NS.

Okay. So you think that LBGT people aren't murdered just because of who they are, just like blacks used to be? You don't think LGBT people face similar discrimination that blacks had to deal with in the workplace/community/wherever?

I don't even watch the media, which shows how little you pretend to know about me.

How about I have talked to people who are homosexual and I have had homosexual peers who would like to see themselves married with someone their own sex for a change? How about me and my beliefs being formed around equality for all people? How about me not being a condescending asshole and actually following God's word which says we must love our neighbor as we love ourselves regardless of their beliefs?

I have nothing against them because of my belief system. As long as they let me be in peace I am okay with them marrying and getting together. Also, Marv is African American, I am Latino, hence I can't speak for African Americans, but I can speak about my own experiences, which are not "liberal media sheeple commentaries" like you claim.

Thus far I have presented arguments which are the truth, more so then your claims. You have presented your arguments, driven by your motivation to secure the right to gay marriage for yourself and others.....Your arguments have not been based on common sense, and have ignored historical, social, biological, religious, moral, and political considerations. You have warped all of my points and may me seem like the bad guy...You truly think that your right to gay marriage is the same as civil rights for African-Americans, and you are blinded that we (blacks) have not faced any further discrimination...You have been misled.

As far as I can tell, institutionalized racism in the United States has mostly vanished nowadays. Most racism, as far as I can tell, is sociocultural now.

That's not entirely true, partially because homosexuals can hide their sexuality, while black people can't hide their skin color.

But if homosexuals couldn't hide their sexuality, this would absolutely be true.
