Homophobes need to learn that people have human rights...
Because sometimes even national leaders just want to hang out

People like that infuriate me. "I don't like what you do, so please do it somewhere where I won't see it or have to think about it."
Seriously, grow the fuck up. I'm not into girls, but I don't complain when I see a lesbian couple. Are people really so God damn immature as to want to deny people rights just because they don't like that group?

Unfortunately, yeah. People think they have some sort of moral obligation to oppose same sex marriage (but the real reason is actually "ew". All the other pseudo-legitimate arguments only exist to hide that fact).

And you know what the worst part is? The hypocrisy. Female homosexuality is generally thought of as 'hot' and lesbians don't face that much discrimination. Male homosexuality, on the other hand, is thought of as 'gross' and 'wrong', and male homosexuals(like me) face tons of discrimination. One gender being gay is okay, but not the other, according to their logic. Hell, in most Islamic countries, male homosexuality is punishable by death, while female homosexuality is legal.

We really, really shouldn't be using Brazil as an example. Whilst, yes, same sex marriage is legal the country has a huge problem with anti-LGBT violence.
A homophobic murder occurs once every 2 to 3 days, with a death of over 2,700 in the period 1980 to 2009. 65% of LGBTs in Brazil have been the victim of a hate crime.
Hetalian Indie Rio de Janeiro wrote:Only less than 3000 in 30 years? You do realize that about 50000 people are registered by police (an oten sick, reactionary, anti-human rights and corrupt police) to have been murdered each year, right?
Hetalian Indie Rio de Janeiro wrote:Brazil is both fairly tolerant and progressive for a third world middle income country, and fairly violent for anything Neolithic.

Thank you. I'm sick of seeing people using Brazil as an example regarding LGBT rights.
Mmm. Brazil is a country seemingly at war with itself over LGBT rights. 77% are in favour of the creation of specific offences relating to anti-LGBT violence, but there's still this huge death toll and amount of violence.

Black people aren't banned from donating blood. Black people can get married.

What?
What?

Dude you even importance of context?
Most culturally Euro-descended countries and about all of those that aren't ban gays from donating blood. 12 months > lifetime. And even these 12 months are already being legally questioned.
