I am indeed a Trotskyist (CWI). Trotsky came from Odessa and had the move the Red Army south to defeat Wrangel's army of anti-Semitic mercenaries and monarchists, which was marching northwards from Crimea. He had to bypass the weak government in Kiev and that of Makhno also. There were two governments in Western Ukraine, and their territory ended up as part of Poland. Before he died, Trotsky favoured an independent socialist Ukraine.
