Worshipping Personal Gods

I'm quite interested in the fact that people actually create their own personal gods to their liking. Some may also worship Greek divines etc. It seems as if it could make people more happy do to the fact that you may tweak your own belief system. I've created divine beings and metaphysical planes and it is enjoyable. It's cool to kind of, in a fictional sense, worship them. Of course not corresponding with your actual beliefs. Ive seen many stories about people worshipping their own gods.

I want to know how you all feel on this subject. Is it weird, cool etc.? Do you worship your own personal divines for fun or for happiness or do you worship divines of a paganic religion?

Some would say it's also a means of cultural unity and personal survival, but that's neither here nor there.

The concept of an anthropomorphized aspect of nature is still a human invention. It's just not a very creative one.

You're making a very poor distinction between the two.
Are not the people who sieged the city gods (or all together one god), according to your definition in the previous example?

The concept of an anthropomorphized aspect of nature is still a human invention. It's just not a very creative one.

I don't think the OP intended for this topic to become a debate on whether or not gods are real, guys.

Anyways, on topic: I have created fictional being in some of my short stories, a few having god-like characteristics. It's a fun subject to play around with in writing.
