How do the competitors fare? Was only using the first example that came up.

Well, I really don't know. But I do know the reason why it fails is because the nozzle is too small.

So, it's okay for a guy to use a urinal... But god forbid one of those walking vaginas decide they want to piss standing up.

Research on privacy in bathrooms? Why?

Your "evidence" was a blogger finding an article about a transgender person using the facilities of a locker room as was intended. One of the mothers complained. The teacher complained. The teacher realized this woman is transgender and was only using the facilities as intended, and nothing came of it. If you can't accept that your own source is showing the lives of transgendered people slowly getting better, then well... sucks to suck.

Then why do you tout this as a pervert? The man is just using facilities as intended. There was a bit of confusion, a teacher called the cops before the knew the truth, and then she knew the truth and apologized. The prosecution is using a pretty smooth cover for "we really don't think this needs to be a crime", which is great.

Alright, so I posted way back that perhaps things should be separated by sex because it's easier for everyone.

However, some people went on about how having to identify as your sex is "miserable" (which I don't quite agree with because it's just a physical feature, much like how I would identify a a person with black hair). However, something came to my mind that might work.

In my residence, there is a unisex bathroom. The stalls are all like miniature rooms, with nothing but a toilet, toilet paper, and maybe a plunger. Since no one can see ANY part of you in these "room-stalls", you get total privacy.

So, the only time you see people is when you're entering, washing your hands, and leaving. Nothing too "icky" there. Do you think this could prevent feelings from getting hurt all around?

Granted, I found it weird at first but I got used to it upon realizing the "room stall" gave me total privacy.

NOTE: It's the first uni-sex bathroom I've seen in my life that wasn't a "family washroom" which was really just a big room with one toilet. Don't blame me for living somewhere where uni-sex bathrooms weren't common!

Honestly, I think places that can afford it should be building very small rooms to do business in. Multi-person bathrooms sure do save money, but businesses that could afford it should at least consider the idea of a bunch of room stalls.

Provided it's not too much more expensive, or harder to keep clean, I'm totally cool with it.

That is often what is meant by gender-neutral.

Oh. It's the first uni-sex bathroom I've ever seen (don't blame me), but I figured it could work. The girls in there didn't seem freaked out when I walked in.

I think it could work, if they made the rooms the right side. There were only two in that specific bathroom... but I think you would have only been able to fit about maybe three stalls in the same space. Not a huge loss, unless we go into the thousands but I doubt a bathroom will ever get that big.

i don't know about mandated, but mandated to be allowed certainly, in the kind of smaller communities likely to replace cities after the fall.
and in the kind of villages and small towns that have never died out and are unlikely ever to do so.

for small bussiness in small comunities, and other small instatutional facilities, having to have gender seperated 'bath'rooms is simply not practical.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

I'm not understanding how you fail to see the problem with a pre-op transexual walking around nude in a women's locker room. It's not as if we're talking about her using a stall in some public restroom here. And, to make matters worse, she did so in a facility that children are known to frequent. Does this mean any pervert who wants to expose their penis to children can just throw on a dress — oh, wait, that's not even necessary, is it? — and stride confidently into the girl's showers? As for the woman apologizing, that is bizarre. I can only assume that she caved in to some serious P.C. pressure. Sad.

Government buildings should be made gender neutral but I don't like interfering with private business.

Pretty much this. No mandate for private business or anything, but fierce campaigning could get at least the pro-lgbt businesses to consider them.

Perhaps. But until that is the case, we're stuck in strange grey areas like this where we're bending the rules in a very questionable manner.

I'm not saying it is. I'm saying that it's likely the pro-lgbt companies will be more open-minded to the idea of gender neutral bathrooms.
