Let me start by saying a few stuff:

1-For the same crime men get punished several times more than women do.
2-Women are allowed to terminate abortion even 1 day before natural birth, men can't say anything about it and are being forced into parenthood just like women are in the East.
3-Obamacare gives women from the age of 15(even lower than the age of consent) 2 free HIV tests per year, while gives men a big dump in their face, because men get nothing.

When did men had the right to get the same punishment as women do?
When did men had the right to say anything about not being forced into parenthood?
When did men had the right to ask the same medical care as women do from Obamacare?
When did Obama created a board for men and boys(as he did for women and girls)?
When did men had the right to get attention about the huge gender gap in school teachers as women do for anything else?
When did men had the right to justice about N.Carolina's law that punishes more severely a man punching a woman than vice versa regardless of the harm caused?
When did men(boys) had the right to be taught in the public schools how to defend themselves from being raped like girls do?
When did men had the right to teach Masculism in the public schools like women do with Feminism?

If this isn't enough, in Norway + European Union the Feminist lobby is trying to outlaw any form of critic toward itself. Technically we won't be able anymore to criticize stuff like "men are born rapists".

This thread is specifically about a mandate requiring unisex restrooms in either all public accommodations or just all government edifices. It is not about any the following:

-Discrepancy in legal penalties between men and women for criminal and civil offenses in general
-Mens' alleged inability to object to being allegedly "forced into parenthood"
-Alleged discrepancies in benefits brought about by the PPACA between the sexes
-The absence of an administrative board specifically designed to address mens' concerns
-The sex ratio of public school teachers
-North Carolina laws concerning domestic violence
-Self-defense programs in public schools
-Teaching Masculinism

Each of these could be discussed on NSG. Just not in this thread.
I'm female, so please remember to say "she" or "her" when referring to me.

While I understand that the best I'll get is a gender-neutral bathroom, as long as binary-specific rooms exist, I want non-binary-only rooms to exist as well? Why the fuck should binary people get two rooms to use while I only get one?

Take heart Linux, and everyone else who is put upon by the current paradigm.
Not in our generation, perhaps not in our lifetime, but some day, and some day relatively soon, we shall have true gender equality.
We can only do our part to keep it at the forefront of public consciousness, in whatever small ways we can, be it by arguing on the internet alone, or arguing on the internet to hone our skills so as to argue to our friends and family.
Alone we make no difference.
But there are thousands, nay, millions of us doing this, and our arguments are better.

We'll get there in the end. Provided we keep it up.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

There are binary people who share your sentiments and would also rather have one room because the artificial gender divisions are unnecessary and there would be no need for separate restrooms if a single unisex one were standard.

Is funny, in that picture is said "men did it", aren't the feminists those who say that women are the worst of all the misogynists? If we put Phyllis Schlafly in the White House(and imagine the misogynist policies after that), can I just sit tight and blame women for that?

It seems like the gender of the politicians means shit, who's behind them matters. In this case Obama is fucking up the male gender thanks to the Feminist sponsored laws, don't patriarchy bullshit me!

Alleged? You know that if you get a girl pregnant, she decides anything, whether the baby will born etc. in the end you can't say shit and you're just forced to pay monthly checks or go to jail. In the "civilized" [Western] World, you're forced to pay "child support" even when the baby has been genetically proved to belong to someone else, yes of course, is just "Alleged"...

I agree, tell that to Luveria, she started it with a provocative statement "About some men not wanting to be reduced at the level of women", she probably thought this is a Feminist forum when no one will oppose that bullshit comment.

You have proven my point. You perceive the extension of equal rights to all genders to be a reduction of male rights.

If you agree with me, just end the threadjack, start a thread on any (or all) of those topics you mentioned, and get back to the topic of mandatory unisex bathrooms for all future posts in this particular thread. That's all I'm asking you to do.

You can take the sign off the bathroom to make it gender neutral, you don't have to build new bathrooms.
I should have worded the poll a bit better now it's too late though. You should be able to change your vote if you want.

Leave your reason for why you chose what you chose. Thanks.

Basic For argument: Anti gender discrimination. There are many non-transgender and non-cross dressers, who are in favor of gender-neutral bathrooms. Example a female and male who are friends, and want to stay with each other for protection and company.

Basic Against argument: costs to much to add a 3rd all-gender bathroom. Some people prefer separate male and female bathrooms because males are on average less sanitary than females, the low-risk of accidental pregnancy though contamination, and females don't want perverted males peeking at them when they go to the bathroom.

uni-gender or gender-neutral bathroom is a bathroom that all genders can use.
(Image)
(Image)
Gender = xx or xy gender, whatever gender the person was born as.

Trans-gender = someone that pretends to be a gender they were not born as (sometimes they mutilate their genitals and get plastic surgery).

Sex= sexual intercourse and some refer to sex also as sexual activity and sometimes gender.

I am pro- transgenders being able to be transgender. I am not a trans-gender phoebe.
I am pro- letting transgenders use the bathroom of their gender.
Please do not leave posts that merely say mean things about transgender people. The topic is about bathrooms. Thanks.

Seriously can the op or even someone else please provide a real world example of when this has ever actually happened, ever? I mean seriously, what woman has ever gotten accidentally pregnant fro ma toilet?

Also seems like a lot of this argument should perhaps boil down to a preop/postop distinction, after all isn't there a difference between transgender and transexual? :eyebrow:

Sort of. Transgender is an umbrella term. Transsexual refers to a specific situation under that umbrella (which may have multiple causes and thus be multiple conditions).

But Pre-Op and Post-Op should not be the litmus test. There are also Non-Op (for various reasons, including medical contraindications). According to the Standards of Care, a Pre-Op MtF TS is supposed to live and present as female at all times (and a Pre-Op FtM TS is supposed to live and present as male at all times) for a certain duration before being approved for hormone treatment, and then must continue to do so in order to be approved for Sexual Reassignment Sugery. This means that MtF must use the ladies' room even before SRS, because, frankly, if someone in a dress went to the gents' room, the results would be likely to be unpleasant. Realistically, having Pre-Op and Post-Op as the litmus test would mean that someone who appears entirely female unless you look between their legs would be required to use the men's room, and statistics indicate a high probability that such a person in such a situation would get beaten up, raped, and/or killed. Is that really what you would want to advocate?

Really? What I'm looking for is to have equal rights with women. I'm looking for the right to say no to parenthood, something that only women are allowed to decide. I'm looking for quotas for men in the areas when men lack, just the same that women are granted. I'm looking for the right to pay an equal payment to Obamacare compared to women and not more. Also I'm looking for an equal treatment from Obamacare to that granted to women(free HIV tests etc.). I'm looking for a fair justice system that for the same crime is punishing men more than women.

Please tell what kind of rights are being extended here to the other genders? Do you want the right to be systematically discriminated from the government? And who's talking about the other genders? I just asked equal treatment for men.

YOU HAVE PROVEN MY POINT! You perceive the extension of equal rights to men to be a reduction of women's rights.

Dusk_Kittens wrote:Please do not commit the fallacy of generalization. "The Feminists" are not a single group who all share the same beliefs and attitudes.

This is very true, unfortunately. Unlike masculism that is totally unaffiliated to politics and random ideologies, Feminism has been strongly influenced from politics and hate groups, especially gynofascists.

You have Marxist feminists that cares more about politics than women's issues.
You have the gynofascist Radfems who hate men and especially trans people.
And you have the pseudo-Feminist conservatives.

Frankly I don't even think we should use words like masculist or feminist. Because when a person is discriminated based on the gender is like everybody is discriminated. Gender equalist is a much better term.

About the topic, in Italy Vladimir Luxuria proposed the unisex bathrooms a while ago, and of course the conservatives opposed it, for no particular reasons, mostly because they think "god created us different" and that "trans should not exist".

You have the exact same right to stop being pregnant as a woman does.

How about, when she gets pregnant, both are asked if they want to keep the baby, and if one says no, it should be mandatory abortion?

What about, when she decides to give up her baby after birth she gets encouraged and supported from the government agencies, while he is forced to pay child support every month even when the baby has been proven to don't be his genetically and he risks jail-time if he stops paying? How about when grant even him the same right that women have to give up the their parental rights and get away with it?

How about when she's pregnant we give even him the right to leave the job without risking to lose it during the pregnancy?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now the topic, someone might suggest weird things, like "lets keep separate bathroom and create new ones even for the trans".
1-Why to keep separate bathrooms?
2-New ones for the trans only would cost a lot.
3-Trans is a word of a lot of meanings, there are to female trans, and to male trans. See, we already would need 4 different types of bathrooms.
4-There aren't just males, females, to female trans and to male trans, there are even gender queers, unclassified, genderless, hermaphrodites etc. You would need 10 different types of bathrooms.
5-How are you going to check the gender of the person? You're going to judge the clothes, voice, length of hair, or what that person claims? That pretty sexist.
There's no other solution for a respectful society where everyone feels welcomed, unisex bathrooms are necessary.
It doesn't look that way.
That is a lie. Men are allowed to have abortions too. Do stop making up things.
What does that any of that have to do with the thread topic of gender-neutral bathrooms? If you want to rant about Feminism, go make a thread for it.
Hardly. You're asking for equal rights? Women, if pregnant, have a right to stop being pregnant. Men, if pregnant, have a right to stop being pregnant. Seems pretty damn equal.
How about, when she gets pregnant, both are asked if they want to keep the baby, and if one says no, it should be mandatory abortion?
You want to force someone to get an unwanted medical procedure? Boys are really icky.
Haven't I asked until know just that? Equal Obamacare, equal punishment for the same crime, equal parental rights, equal quotas?
OK, that's it, now I'm scared, I can't get it if you're retarded or just a troll, for really...
What does that any of that have to do with the thread topic of gender-neutral bathrooms? If you want to rant about Feminism, go make a thread for it.
I know that the comment was offtopic but I had to answer to your weird claims.
What?
I AM ASKING EQUAL RIGHTS FOR MEN, EQUAL TO THOSE THAT WOMEN ARE BEING GRANTED.
-SAME CRIME, SAME PUNISHMENT, NOT HIGHER FOR MEN.
-PREGNANCY, ASK EVEN THE MAN, NOT JUST THE WOMAN(BOTH MUST SAY YES TO KEEP THE BABY, OTHERWISE IT MUST BE ABORTION).
-RIGHT TO GIVE UP THE BABY(ORPHANAGE ETC.) FOR THE WOMAN, SAME RIGHT TO THE MAN, AND NOT JAIL TIME FOR REFUSING TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT.
-NOT HER BABY GENETICALLY, LETS FIX IT. SAME FOR MEN, NOT HIS BABY LETS FIX IT.
-QUOTAS IN THE AREAS WHEN WE'RE LACKING FOR WOMEN, LETS DO THE SAME IN THE AREAS WHEN WE'RE LACKING FOR MEN.
-EQUAL PAYMENT TO OBAMACARE, NOT HIGHER FOR MEN.
-EQUAL CONSCRIPTION, NOT JUST FOR MEN.
-EQUAL TREATMENT FOR MEN FROM OBAMACARE, NO SPECIAL STUFF FOR WOMEN ONLY.
I hope you understand, because I'm seriously getting tired answering you.
Conscription isn't just for men, and the all-caps is really annoying.
