Wait you are preaching that they are being Intolerant but at the same time you are saying they should not be allowed to use their freedom of association. That is a hyprocrite OP if I must say. How can you and how dare you preach tolerance, when you can not tolerate others. I totally support LGBT equality but what gives you the right to take away rights. It is people like you, who give people who are for social equality a bad name. All you are doing is helping their side.

There is greater Biblical evidence for water turning into wine than for Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed due to homosexuality.

Very true. Granted, my Biblical knowledge is a little lackluster, especially with the details.

There's no Biblical support for the idea that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed due to their denizens practice of homosexuality.

The funny thing is, your post is just as bad as the OP. The OP thinks it's bad to let people voice your opinion. Bad OP.

Now, you say it's bad to not tolerate people who aren't tolerant? Fuck that noise, I'm going to not tolerate their disliking of my life for as long as they continue to have those views. I'll tolerate their way of life, but not their lack of acceptance. Tolerance isn't universal, muchacho.

Bingo. Sodom (we don't know about Gomorrah, it seems to have been a case of divine collateral damage) was guilty of the sin of inhospitality. For instance, they used to write their names on coins that they'd give to the poor, but merchants wouldn't accept them so the poor would die, and then the people who donated the money would be able to claim it back easily.

This is why, in the Bible, you have that shtick about Lot offering his virgin daughters to the gang of Sodomites rather than his guests. It's apocryphal and designed to contrast Lot's rather extreme brand of hospitality to his guests to the Sodomites extreme inhospitality.

Why, isn't someone here being self-contradictory in regards to human rights. Let me remind you of a lesson I seem to be the only one to understand, somehow: Good people can do bad things. There is no universal code of conscience that is instilled into every last human being on earth. It's the same with racism a hundred years back. Someone could go off, sell all their possessions and live in poverty just so that others wouldn't live in poverty, and then see a black guy and consider him inferior. Why? That's the way he was raised. He was taught that there was a natural order of the world, so he believed it. I support LGBTQ rights, but I don't judge those who don't on their political views. Within a hundred years, people will think the same about restrictions on gay marriage as we think about restrictions on interracial marriage. Give it time, and the world progresses, but don't judge people because of the environment in which they were raised.

I will judge whoever the hell I want if they refuse to question their own beliefs. "It's how I was raised" Is a fucking cop-out and they deserve even less of our time if that's their reasoning.

How you were raised isn't an excuse. There is no excuse or reason to see another human as inferior and denying their rights for being LGBT.

These are people feeling quite confident with themselves throwing rocks at Rosa Parks while a mob of people cheers them on. In a decade or two that mob is going to disperse, they'll be quite alone, and their families will deny they ever existed.

That's absolutely an excuse. It's a pretty fucking good excuse in fact, if you'd been born in the 50's and raised with those ideals would you feel the same way about social issues you feel now?
