Favorite military aircraft

Postby Alios territorys » Tue Nov 12, 2013 10:53 am

Just discuss your favorite modern military plane in this forum, you can use some of the older planes from the cold war like the XB-70 or f-15 or even planes predating that.

(This isn't about which plane is BETTER, (Don't want to open that deathtrap),just talk about which one is a personal favorite and why, however friendly debate is encouraged)

As for me, I prefer the f-22 for it's stealth and supersonic cruise, along with it's influence in popular culture

What if your favorite military aircraft predates the cold war?

I like T-50 PAK FA, even though it is almost a direct copy of the american F-22.

As posted before, I like the "niche" planes. So the A10 "Warthog" and the Harrier Jump Jet are ones I have already talked about elsewhere. I'd also suggest the Ekranoplan (if it counts, given it's mostly a GEV). And Little Nellie (of Bond fame) would be the easiest example of autogyro to zero in on (which can also be described as 'military'... although those towed by submarines for spotting purposes might count more).

It's fine if your favorite predates the cold war, like I said, if it's your personal favorite, fire away.

My favorite Air Plane is the MiG-29, it's used in Russian, Romanian, Serbian and many other Air Forces. It is the best Military Plane for me, it was used against NATO and Albanian Forces during the Kosovo War in 1999. Here is a Picture of it:

Love the subject.
My favorite USAF aircraft is the A-10C Warthog. Sure it's been around awhile but, when you call in a danger close air support on a trenched armor, would you want anything else? Sure AC-130U could do the most the job. But,I don't like mopping up. Still prefer a clean kill.

I love the SR-71 Blackbird.

I like the sleek design, and the sheer capabilities it has.

I have a model of it at home XD It's a majestic plane.

I used to make flight sims for self and brother, after my time in the service and private military consultant. I love military aircraft of all nations. It's hard to narrow down one favorite. So,I'll choose by class such as fighter, attack and bomber. Really love the helicopters of the world.
