The Qing dynasty are hated by the Chinese for the simple reasons that they were not Han Chinese and they are blamed for China's decline in the 19th century. Little thought is given to the fact that all dynasties ultimately decline and fall, or that the Qing dynasty at its height was the largest and most powerful of all Chinese empires. They also tried to be fair to the Han Chinese by appointing them to high office, and adopted traditional Chinese customs- rather than the Communist Party which tried to annihilate them in the so-called "Cultural Revolution."
