Of course, some may turn to the Conservatives too, which is what I'm hoping for.

The party's in repairs right now, and they've got a ludicrously popular and rather charismatic leader.

As of today, they've also surpassed the Conservatives in both individual donors and total donations.

FIGHTER JETS

Forget fighter jets or attack helicopters, think bigger. Submarines. Destroyers. Supply ships.

1) Canada's submarines are utter crap.
2) There's a single destroyer defending the Pacific coast.
2) There is a single supply ship for the entire Pacific Fleet.

Dangerous how? The Liberals balanced the budget in the 1990s and the NDP has never been in power at the federal level, so there's no way they can claim to know what the NDP would do to the budget.

I understand you would think I am shallow, I just think it was the wrong move because America was and still is are biggest trading partner and when old Trudeua was off in Cuba or the USSR that Americans were not thrilled. Also he distanced himself from NATO and was obsessed with communism. His antics on the diplomatic side of things were nothing to be proud of.

Stephen Harper is Canada's equivalent to Bush, just without the whole war bit. He hates freedom and as such should have his taken away. I hope for anything but a Tory led government.

I'd disagree on terrible. He didn't like Western Canada, and hurt people there. By that standard, Harper is similarly terrible.

Add to the fact that they were both militaristic, often insensitive, and deeply annoying to about half the nation and loved by the other half, and you have a fairly good picture of equality.

But then Trudeau patriated the Constitution, stopped the FLQ, brought in universal health care, built ties with China before Nixon, made us officially bilingual, got us onto G7, and established the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

What has Harper done for us? Our spy service is humiliated, our army has lost its peacekeeping reputation, the navy is a disaster, the government is divided, his appointees are corrupt or unfit for office, his backbench is nearly in revolt, and he regularly prorogues. He relies on his wife's kittens for charisma.

At least he added "Royal" back to our forces..... Wait ....... Is that an achievement?

Dangerous in the fact that both parties borrow and borrow and spend and spend. The NDP destroyed the Yukon were my father lived for most of his life by high spending and taxation. Yes because the Soviet Union and Cuba were reliable trading partners right? Fidel made Nixon look like an honest person.

Maybe because Nixon is and was an honest person ;) [Nixon fanboy sorry]

You are missing the point. If we rely on one nation for trade, it would bring us down (hey, that's what is happening now, whoops) sure USSR, Cuba, and the PRC aren't 100% reliable for trade, but it made more diversity for the Canadian foreign market.

Pierre Trudeau recognized that relying almost entirely on the US for trade was a terrible idea, and it is thanks to him that Canada began pursuing diverse trading relationships. Can you imagine how much worse our economy would be right now if we were still almost exclusively hitched to the Americans?

You realize that the political situations in provinces and territories are very different, right? Like how the territories have very little autonomy when compared to provinces, and rely largely on funding from the federal government to provide services to a large geographic area with very few citizens.

Harper is doing that right now with the EU and well China. But back in the Cold War era trade with our southern friends was vital. As for 2013 Libya would make a better trading partner. (Sorry Americans your economy sucks right now.)
