PETA seems to have some kind of thing against Nintendo. While it is sort-of, kind-of understandable how one might, from an extremely biased point of view, see pokemon as promoting animal cruelty, their crusade against Mario's tanooki suit just made no sense. Have they made any parody of the Zelda games yet? I wouldn't be surprised if they went for all three of Nintendo's big franchises.

They went after Cooking Mama instead of Zelda as those Octoroks and Redeads aren't exactly cute creatures worthy of respect in PETA's eyes given that those enemies attack people first.

i think a lot of people are just way too trigger-happy with their preconceptions/ideologies and will take any unverified bullshit at face value if it's dressed up convincingly enough

Unfortunately it seems legitimate until I realized that. Still there is the inverse suit of Nintendo suing PETA over the parodies and putting Grimace as a Pokemon.
