I can't believe you didn't say rome. Needless to say, out of all the worlds greatest empires, none have lasted longer than 300 years, and the US is on 233...

Also sorry to you French but well...
True, France never had much victories, but Napoleon was special. He won and fought more battles than Alexander the Great, Fredrick the Great, Caesar and Hannibal combined.

Pardon? Rome lasted over 450 years, and that's the Imperial system alone. If you include the expansion of the Republic (Which was most certainly an Empire in the territorial sense), you've got another 500 or so years added on there.

The US doesn't consist of more than one nation like the UK does,
The US doesn't have one supreme ruler.

Yep. Rome lasted quite a while. At least until Caligula fucked it up.

We also gave the world some of its greatest music, art and literature, a myriad of inventions, and the idea that anyone can succeed, despite birth. And where we were once behind we are now progressive, being one of the few nations in the world that can proclaim a legalization of same-sex marriage in many areas, and civil unions virtually everywhere. We still lead in freedom of speech and have a government that, relative to the rest of the world, is respectful of privacy.
And we have the power to do anything, because we possess the greatest economy that can be imagined, and a people that love this nation more than its soul, and is finally looking toward the future.
