There was a brief confusion earlier in my life, before I fully understood the idea of gender itself. For a small time, I imagined how life would be different if I were a girl. Since this mostly entailed getting a pony for your dream birthday and letting your hair grow out, I thought it was desirable to be a girl. As my understanding of gender increased, my stance on my self chosen gender evolved accordingly. I live my life under the assumption I have no desire to be female now, and feel just fine with it.

I still want that damn pony for my birthday, though.

Whatever's in your pants is your sex.

What biological configuration one may have would be one's sex. One cannot get around what sex an individual is. Gender, on the other hand, is an illusion - another label people apply to other people to make this confusing world easier to handle. Not that I've anything against that, I just believe that the concept of gender is antiquated.
