It's true. At least in today's economy. Right or wrong, English majors in the United States tend to be pretty horrible when it comes to getting a job with it.

I work part-time at a slaughterhouse and am currently majoring in Criminal Justice (AAS degree). Any time I stop by the gun store, I also help them there with retail, quick-fixes, bore-sighting, etc.

Besides my previous post I also write up stories and concepts for movies, music video's, and books. Good thing bout that is I'm pretty good at it. Bad thing is when I want it to come out on paper like it is in my head it just turns into crap.

On side note funny thing is I actually have made excellent stories that were derived from nation states. And it's also how I came up with my gamer tag for Xbox Live.

I sit up on my little stool and use my hammer to pound rocks into stuff. I self employed makin 10's of dollars for every ten pounds of rocks I bang with my hammer. I also am a failed inventor as I tried well sorta tried to get my idea for a reusable plastic candy bar holder made but it would have cost to much money so down the tube it went.

I too was wanting a degree in a field that has almost no jobs.
I was begging my parents to let me study history for my major since its my favorite subject but they said its only useful if you gonna be a teacher or museum person. So I feel ya bro
