From what I've read, many Americans jumped the Mexican border to get to Tijuana and have a drink.

Alcohol was also shipped in from Canada and produced in secret in the US.

It would depend what you mean by "ruin". I wouldn't say that alcohol is ruined by not allowing people to drive drunk or other such reasonable restrictions.

Nah, it failed in the same way pretty much everywhere. Who would have though people would start to smuggle in their booze if it was prohibited? Or that making everyone wanting a drink a criminal would lower the treshold to cross into other crimes? Tsk Tsk.

oh, indeed not. i'm just worried that the principle K offered is no good. clearly some things are too dangerous or too easy for people to make 'bad decisions' with, and we should 'ruin them for everyone'.
