Banning alcohol isn't a good idea, but education as to it's effects most definitely is.

I could potentially get behind banning alcohol advertisements, just as we banned cigarette adverts here in the U.S. Banning the actual substance would be a bad idea however. Lets not go back to running moonshine.

Now, obviously alcohol is a factor in drunk driving incidents. But the problem isn't alcohol, the problem is someone driving under its influence. People driving while distracted or tired are also a danger on the roads. The solution isn't to ban phones or tiredness.

The residence halls at my college have the freshmen undergo an alcohol seminar to teach them risks involved with drinking and how to be responsible. Very informative and it has saved me from blacking out.
