See above.

Nervun's ruling is from two years ago and what he says mirrors that rule almost verbatim. The rule says "We don't care if your offensive statement is something you actually believe." and Nervun says "We don't care if your offensive statement is something you actually believe." So what I'm saying can't be that off the wall as far as ruling is concerned.

You know, I was aware of the review thing and was (earlier in this thread) wondering what happened with it. Turned out that it had already been replaced earlier on.

Perhaps the mods could use some cycling to keep them from becoming weary of modding. Like 3 months on/3 months off or something.

So you're saying that a sincerely held belief should always be a proper defense for outrageously offensive statements? I'm really not sure what you're saying. All I know is that you're saying it very vehemently and that you are under the impression that it is in conflict with what I have said.

As I mentioned earlier, this thread made that abundantly clear.
The American Legion is a neo-fascist terrorist organization, bent on implementing Paulinist Sharia, and with a history of pogroms against organized labor and peace activists and of lynching those who dare resist or defend themselves against its aggression.

That's usually how I operate, except there's usually no set time. I have periods of time where I have no problem taking on as many tasks as I can in Moderation, and I have my periods of time (as of the last few weeks) where my mod activity is minimal. It's usually in relation to my stress levels in real life.

I'm saying it's all in the intent. If a statement is made to incite anger by being the opposition it is trolling. However, if there is no malice then there is no troll.
I don't think there should be a board wipe for held beliefs and trolling. It should be a case-by-case basis.

But your first two sentences ARE a board-wipe! So, under your paradigm, if I genuinely and truly believed that all human beings who were not eskimo's ought to be exterminated in a fiery blaze of nuclear hellfire, and I proselytized these views on the NS forums, I would receive no punishment.

A few suggestions I have:

A much larger Moderation team.
Retirement for a few current mods.
Better mod coverage of all timezones. (10pm to 5am west coast time especially - the forums are largely unmoderated during that time frame)
Reconsideration of the "troll naming" rule.

I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.
