Not Venezuela. It's one of the most democratic countries in the world. The reports of media crackdowns and government corruption are hugely exaggerated.

Your last point is probably right. An example is the Egyptian Revolutionary Socialists, who supported Morsi, although they only did so on the second ballot, and if I were in Egypt, I would have been tempted to do likewise.
However, your second point is completely mystifying. What do Venezuela, Syria and North Korea have in common, other than being on the same planet? Venezuela is a social-democratic mixed economy. Syria is in the midst of a civil war between two religious sects. North Korea is a dictatorship with an ideology remotely rooted in Stalinism.

If the USA buys its oil from the dictatorship that's arming the al-Qaeda rebels in Syria, rather than from democratic Venezuela, it's the USA's fault, not the Venezuelans. In case you misunderstand me, I don't support the Assad regime either.

No, North Korea is in shit because it's isolationist. So that makes no sense. As for the repressing of speech and forced labor, that's not communist.

Does a personality cult really count as theocracy?
Political Compass: Economic Left/Right: -10.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -10

"In place of bourgeois society with all of it's classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, one in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all" -Karl Marx

There's been reports by some Christian groups of the attribution of supernatural powers to them, but these are largely unfounded.

Over 24 million individuals with their own human feelings and emotions, including a large portion of my relatives, naengmyeon, other food that I like, funny-looking traditional hats, poetry, history, nice architecture, the landscape during the winter and during the spring, the sound of cicadas during the summer, its general interestingness, and more.

Because y'know, nothing exists in a country other than the government. Yup.

Yes, but it's an extremely authoritarian country and makes a mockery of socialism. The few things that North Korea does right are outweighed very heavily by the huge amount of things they do wrong.

Every day that North Korea remains this way is another slap in the face of every liberal leftist around the world. Deformed workers' states like NK have made dirty words of socialism and communism.

Yes, and those 24 million individuals are living under the boot of a totalitarian state which claims to be socialist. Most of the positive aspects of its culture which you have mentioned come from a time before the revolution. Disliking the DPRK does not mean disliking everything about North Korean culture.
I'm utopian? I think it's more utopian to believe things can carry on as they are now.
