So feel free to discuss Enosis, and what it represents.

So feel free to discuss Enosis, and what it represents.I believe that North Epirus, Southern Macedonia, Cyprus, Anatolia, and Turkish Thrace should all be returned to Greece. Especially Constantinople, since it's the holy city for the Orthodox Church and should be a part of a Orthodox country, not a Muslim one like Turkey. All of the land listed was originally settled and colonized by Greeks, and Greeks lived there for centuries with Greek being the majority(unlike their other colonies across the Med.), thus I believe that the land is still rightfully theirs and belongs to them.

By your logic, Greece should be a part of Italy because of Rome, much of the middle east should be Iranian as it was once Achaemenid territory, etc. Giving territory to modern nations because their ancestors owned it thousands of years ago is absurd in every case.

Istanbul's population alone is bigger than Greece after all. Let them have it along with the rest of the East Thrace and then the Turks will come to power in the next elections and let Turkey annex Greece.

There wasn't a unified Greek nation until the Macedonians conquered the area under Phillip II(?); the Greek colonies were separate countries, so Enosis is based on a false premise that ancient Greece was a country.

I'd like to add that some Greeks didn't even consider the Macedonians to be of the Greek persuasion. So says Herodotus, anyway.

Aren't most of the inhabitants of modern Macedonia Slavic as well?
This whole thing sounds generally unreasonable. You can't just take over parts of other countries that were once part of yours. New people have moved in and the land belongs to them much more than it does to you.

The Macedonians (Macedonian: Македонци; transliterated: Makedonci) – also referred to as Macedonian Slavs[35] – are a South Slavic ethnic group who are primarily associated with the Republic of Macedonia. They speak the Macedonian language, a South Slavic language. About two thirds of all ethnic Macedonians live in the Republic of Macedonia and there are also communities in a number of other countries.

And presumably the Greeks who believe in this have plans for the Turks who live in these areas?
