To be honest i think nigga i think is neither rude nor is it offensive or degrading since black people them selves use it them selves and get all angry when a person with a different colour says the word.
Just how bastard was the most vile word back in the days it is not that much of a rude word.

Alright, this has happened enough times that I have to ask to be sure...

We all know that rap artists are not the spokespeople for the entirety of the culture, yes? We all understand that within the black community there is in fact disagreement as to whether or not using that word is appropriate and just because you saw it in a video that doesn't mean 'black people use it'?

What I meant was there's nothing inherently bad about the word, and whinging because someone used it is just pathetic. If I was black, and someone called me a nigger, I wouldn't care. I don't care if a black guy says something offensive about my race, or accent, or heritage, or whatever. Repressing free speech in the name of stupid and outdated taboos is just wrong.

Who said anything about repressing free speech? You have every right to call anybody whatever slur you want. Just like they have every right to call you a bigoted ass if you do.

I think it is a stupid word that is mostly used by black people themselves and racist white southerners. I think it is just another word which stupid people put a new meaning on. Being a white Southerner, I understand what it means to call someone a you-know-what (would write it, but not sure on the Moderators' views towards the word). A white man can be just as much of one as a black man. It is a certain attitude and behavior.
