Somewhat off topic, but I love how the volume on that feed goes up to 11.

Thanks for the link though.

Not really, this is pretty much end game. The House failed in their attempts to extract concessions, they can't even put the votes together to pass a new attempt, and Boehner effectively punted to the Senate. With the debt ceiling hitting in 12 hours, trying to hide now will just get him crucified by both sides.

I'm more surprised that senate Republicans are working with the Democrats. Shame House Republicans have to do their job of representing their constituents.

Most House Republicans don't face a state wide election, but a district election where most of them are in districts which are strongly Republican.

Senators get 10 minutes to talk.

Beware if the Tea Party and the Democrats both decide to want Boehner out but for different reasons. You see there is an ethics complaint from one side (Democrats) and an ideology complaint of Boehner as a coward or traitor to the Tea Party itself. Removal might be necessary as he might be a lame duck Speaker.

There isn't really a downside to Boehner being removed as Speaker for the Democrats. After having all ready pissed them off and dragged them through the mud in this epic failure of a showdown, the Tea Party would need near completely unity from the rest of the caucus to get one of their own to replace him...which won't happen. So the new Speaker would most likely win via the moderate/sane block of the GOP caucus with Democrat backing, while the Tea Party sits in a corner foaming at the mouth about liberal traitors.

Remember about gerrymandered districts. Those things aren't for moderate politicians, but to allow more extreme ones to take hold. The Tea Party might last for another nine years before the Census requires new district lines to be made for 2022.

Good for removing some neo-conservatives in softer districts not so heavily GOP. I don't like them, but they do make up the voting base in primaries.
