The only reason CA government is working is because the democrats have supermajorities in both houses of the california legislature. Not just majorities. Supermajorities. Meaning that the Republicans are so few in number that it makes no difference (legislatively) whether they are there or not.

And the reason that there are supermajorities is because of the jungle primary...

Probably not the best thing to think...but...I'm starting to think the Democrats should just give into the GOP's demands...I mean the GOP played the game of politics, and have won. Sure it's wrong a minority party is able to outplay the clear governmental majority but they did.

Fuck that, if we give into the TEA Party demands, all that'd do is teach them that conducting politics in this manner will get them what they want, no matter how badly it fucks over the country. Let's face the facts, we are...15:30 hours away from a default, and our credit rating will get downgraded no matter what, that is almost a certainty.

The Democrats need to hold fast and tell the TEA Party to go fuck themselves and if we default, then spend the next two years telling the American public that all of this is the fault of the TEA Party and their inability to actually govern like a sane party.
