The only reason CA government is working is because the democrats have supermajorities in both houses of the california legislature. Not just majorities. Supermajorities. Meaning that the Republicans are so few in number that it makes no difference (legislatively) whether they are there or not.

And the reason that there are supermajorities is because of the jungle primary...

Fuck that, if we give into the TEA Party demands, all that'd do is teach them that conducting politics in this manner will get them what they want, no matter how badly it fucks over the country. Let's face the facts, we are...15:30 hours away from a default, and our credit rating will get downgraded no matter what, that is almost a certainty.

The Democrats need to hold fast and tell the TEA Party to go fuck themselves and if we default, then spend the next two years telling the American public that all of this is the fault of the TEA Party and their inability to actually govern like a sane party.

I do like Judge Judy, no nonsense, and pretty much just calls it as it is. Watching these bumbling idiots in Washington trying to figure out how to steal more for themselves, is like watching clowns piling into a mini. They should just take the money and stop acting like they are trying to stop the other guy from stealing the taxpayer money. They all have their hand in the cookie jar, acting like they are just trying to put the money back as it flows into their pockets.

ooops I forgot we are not supposed to notice.

Hear is to another day of deadlock, may this be the last day of a remotely functional federal government.

I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

Give him his proper title: de facto Speaker of the House Ted Cruz (R-Calgary).

Only as long as the Democrats remain united on crucial points, which is easier in California than in Congress - less need to accommodate the Bush Dogs.

No. The blame lies squarely on the GOP. Especially the tea party.

Yep.

Fuck everyone involved. Fuck all of the corrupt, self-centered politicians that have totally forgotten about what they signed up to do.

But fuck the Republicans in particular.
