Which we also have. You don't get either of those in China or North Korea.

It's telling you had to use China and North Korea as your best examples of alleged gun control.

Huh, I thought more guns means less gun violence. Odd, I thought the Navy had lots of guns.

I'd just like to point out that the Arab Spring, a giant political uprising the resulted in regime changes in two countries and a current civil war in a third, was started by citizens living in a country with very strict regulations against gun use.

Have you ever thought maybe the citizens in Egypt bought them from the black market? And last time I checked Syria has arms bazaars even before the uprisings.
What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

You think they'd know better than to cite a state that literally claims they will "arm the entire people, fortify the country, train the army into a cadre army and modernize the army on the basis of equipping the army and the people politically and ideologically," as a great example of repressive governments stemming from gun control.

It's funny how you think I was referring to Egypt or Syria as the birthplace of the Arab Spring.

It's funny because you are still wrong.

Rather unfortunate for all those involved. And rather disturbing that a man's redundancy disagreements (at least, I think that's what it was) caused the deaths of 13 people.

UK has a higher violent crime rate, and less rights than the US. So whether a country is developed or not doesn't mean gun bans works.

Switzerland has a very low rate of violent crime and their gun laws are pretty strict, many people mistakenly believe that anyone can own a gun but you need a licence to own most firearms.

I think because the gun control advocate's strategy is to push for control measures each and every time there is a news reported incident.

Pretty sure even the casualties would agree with that. At least have the balls enough to go after people who can defend themselves, not children.

Explore findings from the new report: "U.S. Health in International Perspectives"

And yet the UK has less deaths from violent crimes than the US. I wonder why.

Regulation of Semiautomatic Assault Weapons
In Sweden, private possession of semi-automatic assault weapons is permitted only with special authorisation

Regulation of Handguns
In Sweden, private possession of handguns (pistols and revolvers) is permitted under licence, in some cases, but not for the protection of person or property

Regulation of Automatic Assault Weapons
In Norway, private possession of fully automatic weapons is permitted under licence

While it is fairly restricted, there is still quite a bit of leeway.

If your not an MP or a general with a fondness for wearing his pistol everywhere you do not have access to your weapons except when your using it for training.
